My two penny's worth on the MN relationship (NO offence to MN fans - this is just my reading and I could be dead wrong - this was written a little while ago at the time of the last MN fight.)

I really wonder where the MN story is heading. If I was the writer, I would be doing a compare contrast between SG and MN - one pair building up love through friendship, where both are interdependent on each other and have complete trust in each other - and the other , a love story which started on the basis of almost nothing and still seems to me to be more infatuation than love. Where is the love story in MN? They started off by fighting - one of the most cliched, hackneyed starts which so many stories have used, including Armaan Riddhima - they carried on fighting and they still continue fighting, on the smallest of issues. Their story has progressed at breakneck speed - they met, fought, got attracted, confessed, fought, made up, fought again, made up again ... and are still fighting.
So my question - are they really in love at all?

Mayank - studious quiet guy, not exactly a nerd - all the girls wanted to get near him, but he wasn't interested. So why did Nupur manage to get under his skin? Because she was bold and bubbly, because she was everything he didn't like - loud, filmy, over the top, a chatterbox ... and yet, completely comfortable in her own skin? As he was - is that what attracted him? Or what it just an attraction to the first girl in his life whom he could not ignore? Nupur is the first girl who managed to get close to him, she got under his skin so he had to notice her, interact with her, had to spend time with her (ahmedabad trip among other things) - but does he really know her? what makes her tick? And if he doesn't, isn't this just infatuation - and not really love? Add to it his obsessive need to keep their relationship secret ... isn't that a sign that he himself isn't sure where they're heading?

Nupur - is she in love with Mayank? Or is she in love with Raj ... with Mayank's face? Her thought processes are easier to follow if I assume the latter. She was always ready to fall in love, she was on the lookout for her Prince Charming, her Raj all along, unlike her studious, quiet sister. And the first guy who first confused the wits out of her, then aroused strong emotions of anger, even hate in her then started behaving strangely, giving her long deep meaningful looks - (at least I think that's what they were supposed to be!)... no wonder the girl started thinking there was something between them. And he was always the one pushing her to declare her feelings - she was never sure it was love - the part I find very believable!!! It was the events in her sister's life which pushed her into declaring her feelings, which made her feel that she was luckier than her sister to have a boy who loved her and she should probably hang onto him. But does she really, truly love him? Or does she love Raj?

It may build into love ... later. As they get to know each other, flaws, warts and all. But to me, at the moment, it isn't love - yet. And if I watch the story from that perspective, then the MN story still has a long way to go. Because it really hasn't started yet.

i dont think she did, i mean you dont say shit to someone twll them to go away and say i dotn care o where u want then decide that u do love them and want tehm back!
even if u are cute while doing it! but itll get better :P

I understand ur point, but can i request you not to compare SaJan with MayUr, SaJan have always had this bond of friendship, which is unbreakable...but whats with their love story ? Its been dragging since ages..Agree MN have no story either, they just continue to fight n fight all the time..but my point is about Nupur overreacting...not about SG..they have nothing to do with MN story...! SG are different & so are MN...

I apologise for the comparison if it hurt you - this was written for my private blog and I did try to edit as much as possible before posting here. I was speaking from a writer's perspective rather than a viewer's - also bear in mind that a daily soap has to be written keeping a long time frame for a story in mind, so things happen very slowly.

Even without any comparisons - the Mayur story is really very different from any other love story and I think it shows a lot of reality when two people come together from two very different backgrounds - not just in terms of small town vs big city, but more in terms of mindset. It could easily have been Mayank from a small town and Nupur from a big city - the difference is their views on life and what they want out of it. And I think the meeting of those different viewpoints is what makes the story really interesting.

Passion .... n they live happily ever after... is that we call a story ??? common they are just 19 years old!!! abhi kahani shuruu bhi nahi huee.. n we are complaining over not having a story ... as .. someone said earlier .. they have rushed getting into a relationship .. so CVS might be planning in that way ... i m glad we have something different to watch .. other then the same .. kkhh . which was copied from gazillian other movies ...

mayank n Nupur will get to know each other with time .. they are a deadly combo!! so fights .. more fights are not alien .. infact its more REAL!!!

as for the comparison thingy .,!!! i wont be doing that . Mayank n nupur are incomaprable!! 😊...

i agree with u over ur analysis of nupur ... she is in love with Raj .. she has to fall in love with Mayank n hopefully we are on that ride that will lead us to our desired destination . hopefully soon 😊

Again - apologies if I hurt you! I usually don't post on MN but I am finding this phase of their story really fascinating, so I couldn't help it. Will not do so again !

But in reply - red - who says opposites can't have a successful relationship? I certainly don't. Any relationship needs time to work out - college life is the time to form relationships, some work and some don't. But the reason they don't work is not necessarily because people are opposite, but because they don't manage to bridge those differences. And that is exactly where I think the MN story is poised now - they are very attracted to each other, but they are still struggling to understand each other. Basic attraction has to be there in any relationship, which is what MN have, but to make it deeper and meaningful and turn it into something that will move it from a college romance into something longterm, they have to move into a different phase.

blue - I didn't say they don't have a story. I said their love story hasn't really started yet. I personally feel it will start when they have a break up - and I think that's what they're heading towards. Again I could be completely mistaken - this is the way I would write it if I wrote the story. But then MN are not my creations, so I'll just wait and see what happens.

One more thing - college romances can and do lead to long lasting love - because you have the time with each other (3 years or more) to build up relationships. And this I can say from experience :)
