Though Arjun is still as attractive now as he was before, but he can no longer bring Mayank to life since it isn't in the script. As bad as I feel for losing Mayank, I feel bad for Arjun too. He was doing such a fantastic job and then they decided Mayank's time is up.

Sigh! I KNOW, I share your sentiments Debby. Even AB is unable to save it anymore, I feel bad for him, he got a RAW DEAL!

I think I fell out of love with Mayank the moment I saw his eyes lacking the depth and his intensity diluting, even the smile does not have that charm anymore because its just so superficial Mayank does not have that AURA about him anymore........

Kavya - I secretly wish we'd tape just those cringeworthy scenes and forcibly make Arjun, the producers and the creatives watch them to see how ridiculous it looked!

That is such a luring prospect LadyM 😆 😆 but I doubt if they (at least the producers and creatives) would think of it as ridiculous- they seem to be patting themselves on their backs for coming up with such 'kick ass' and 'unique' ideas

BINGO! Superficial is the exact word for what he's become now....and he was never that to begin with....Exactly, there is nothing left of that charming aura he used to have.

LOL I don't know if that's a message to lower your standards but it does seem to have been proved that only a few of us ever enjoyed Mayank for that uniqueness.....the creatives and most of the audience seems happy enough to see him in the loverboy avatar wherein no absudity seems too small for him to act out :S.....The Mayank Sharma that was at one point the ONLY realistic character in this show LAUGHING at all the absurd frivolous things that the ppl around him did is now a part of the circus....*sigh

I knowwwwww yaar! I knowwwwwwww! Despite myself, I was willing to overlook ALL the crap they had shown before that with the OTT mind games and cheesy dialogues and what not....it was indeed a golden chance to somehow redeem it all! And they squandered that as well.....in such a nightmarish way! Ughhh🤢🤢Oh what an amazing epi it was *sigh* The last time I saw the Mayank-Nupur I loved

@pink: I really miss that part about Mayank the most. How he would laugh at all the absurdity around him! I still remember his Statue of Liberty dialogue about Nupur's fancy outfit. How would that Mayank feel about the plastic and cardboard date? Plus, he hadn't meant to be hurtful even back then. In fact, in that episode, he was the one to console Nupur when she got shouted at by Devdhar. That indifference and sarcasm with his heart in the right place was Mayank. Not this Raj clone who goes with whatever his beloved asks him to do and considers that true love.

@red: The last time indeed..!! =( Why did they have to spoil everything? Is the audience really happy with the typical romantic hero? Or maybe audience tastes don't really matter considering MJHT has too many people to be given more importance than MN.

Who knows really, Debby?? *sigh* But the fact of the matter is that this is how they've played it out.....rarely do such characters come along...so to see them ruined in such a manner grates even more...the fact that they never understood the amazing appeal to MN is sad and their own loss in the end.....that fact that they didnt' realize the fact that because MN WERE different from the usual run of the mill couples was what made them special...THAT was what needed to be maintained! NOT turning the entire thing into such a tacky nightmare that is beyond even Nupur's 'filmy' imaginations!😕😕😆

@pink: Exactly. He has lost his charming and alluring aura... it seems unbelievable to me ATM that there was a time when we would talk endlessly about Mayank till late into the night. Mayank was capable of invoking in me a typical highschool kind of butterflies in the stomach feeling. But the very qualities that made him endearing are the ones the creatives have taken every care to erase.

hey debs, kavya, anu and mimz all of you have raised excellent points, i feel just the same.

mayank was not a typical lover boy and not filmy, i thought he would have hated doing that stuff and made fun of it but alas he is a part of it himself! The true mayank was lost a long back man. only in the confession scene was their real mayank.
For nupur as well, why are the creatives ruining her as well man, she was really warm, sweet and sensible now she is anything but sweet and sensible. Please man don't use her for the most stupidest comic relief man. i don't find any of her jokes funny only and only annoying. sowie rati and arjun if you guys are hurt by reading this but honesty is better than anything.

Ouch! I know what you are saying Anu, his character had so many dimensions before but now he is so uni-dimensional, its like he has nothing else to worry about in his life except Nupur's happiness and his lowe for her This is ironic, for I thought Mayank would turn out to be someone who would treat love as a part of his life rather than treating it as life itself.....where is that goal-oriented,focused, balanced and practical guy who was also sweet yet sarcastic with a no-non sense attitude? Where is that guy who valued his privacy and cared a hoot when the world called him a snob? Where is that guy who never found the need to socialize or reveal about himself/his personal life to every Tom-Dick-Harry he meets? Where is that guy who chose to make friends with caution and care? Where is that guy who would not go about randomly helping every stranger he meets? Where is that guy who spoke less and acted more? I can just go on and on asking these questions but there is no use because I know I will never have an answer..... SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Bingo! The way you put that really makes me feel the creatives have always misunderstood MN. Though this is evident now, but it wasn't back then. The same people who thought out the beach scene, Diwali, the barn, the rain - these are the same people who are now scripting absurd wear-my-locket sequences? How sad it is to see MN being relegated to sidekicks and being treated even worse than them. Even Uday's character hasnt been tampered with.

*sighs* Yeah, we will never get these questions answered Kavs. But seriously, when did Mayank develop such love for socializing? I am not talking about how right/wrong it is, but it isnt something Mayank - the Mayank we knew - would be associated with. He has forgotten all about his studies, his career, his goals. Since when did he start bothering about what people say or think? Man, its ridiculous what they have done to Mayank. 😕
