Prithvi? LOL, I recently started watching that show.. he does have some of the no nonsense attitude and is eye candy as well. But, he doesn't evoke in me the craze that Mayank did right from the beginning. There is only one Mayank.. oh wait, I should say was.

I agree with you on that completely- Mayank was a different notch altogether. How I wish I could see him again, it pains me to call THIS guy we see nowadays as Mayank considering the regard I had for the original MAYANK SHARMA. True Debs, as a character, there WAS only one Mayank . Sadly, only the physical form of him remains today, the soul is long gone........

Mayank was truly different from the run of the mill loverboy types prevalent in most TV shows.....THAT'S what made him so special...but now it's all ruined in a flurry of cutouts, tacky lockets and shaheedi dialogues :((

Indeed Anu. Mayank was so different, yet so charming. He had all the qualities I desire in a perfect guy. Even his imperfections were so relatable. But now he has been moulded into the same old rehash of the quintessential romantic hero.. is that a message to me to lower my standards? 😆

@bold: That look of contentment was a stage I was willing to forgive and forget all. They didn't utilize such a golden chance! 😆 It was almost comical to see the substandard 'date' and the disgusting locket be follow ups to that heavenly rain scene.

100% agree with you. While the P is an eye candy, he cannot elicit the same emotions. Mayank wasn't your conventional M&B prince charming type characters, he was just Mayank, like Nupur had once said. Mayank doesn't have a fancy cell phone, expensive clothes, a bike, leather jacket et al. You can see him calling Nupur from a PCO, walking on the streets, waiting on a B.E.S.T bus stop or traveling in an auto. The moment he tried to turn into a figment of Nupur's imagination, he was lost to me.

So true!

THAT and also the incessant smirking, hanging from autos and nishana sadhoofying dialogues is what ruined this beautiful character for me. We don't need to see traces of Arjun in here. If we did, we have the good old SBS clips to fall back on. What we needed to see was Mayank and how he would've reacted to a particular situation.

LOL I don't know if that's a message to lower your standards but it does seem to have been proved that only a few of us ever enjoyed Mayank for that uniqueness.....the creatives and most of the audience seems happy enough to see him in the loverboy avatar wherein no absudity seems too small for him to act out :S.....The Mayank Sharma that was at one point the ONLY realistic character in this show LAUGHING at all the absurd frivolous things that the ppl around him did is now a part of the circus....*sigh

I knowwwwww yaar! I knowwwwwwww! Despite myself, I was willing to overlook ALL the crap they had shown before that with the OTT mind games and cheesy dialogues and what not....it was indeed a golden chance to somehow redeem it all! And they squandered that as well.....in such a nightmarish way! Ughhh🤢🤢

Oh what an amazing epi it was *sigh* The last time I saw the Mayank-Nupur I loved

Kavya - I secretly wish we'd tape just those cringeworthy scenes and forcibly make Arjun, the producers and the creatives watch them to see how ridiculous it looked!

@Kavya: How true! In fact, owing to the regard we had for the original Mayank, at times even the physical form seems alien to me. The smile seems less alluring, the eyes seem to have lost the depth.. Though Arjun is still as attractive now as he was before, but he can no longer bring Mayank to life since it isn't in the script. As bad as I feel for losing Mayank, I feel bad for Arjun too. He was doing such a fantastic job and then they decided Mayank's time is up.

@LadyM: Exactly. Mayank was so relatable. Totally unlike these characters we see in shows living in palatial houses, driving fancy cars, behaving in a manner that is unrealistic for all and sundry. How I wish that Mayank could ever be restored. Guess the re-runs will have to suffice. =(
