Chapter 32 The Winter 's cold never left me
Sara looked nervous around the office of the RV; it was very unlike her to be nervous. Sara had always been confident that she was a good journalist, but there was something about the man sitting opposite her, that anyone could crawl into the chair to avoid his scrutinizing eyes. The thought of RV, scrutinizing her soul, gave her chills.
"I hope you do not mind if I call you Sarah" asked RV polite, yet he spoke as if he was doing business.
She nodded, since it was normal in the Norwegian culture to call someone with the first name. She smiled, this man was well integrated, but she got the impression that there was a man who understood the culture and traditions. He was an example of how to integrate without having to give up their culture and tradition completely. After all it was a way to practicing culture and tradition, yet adapt in the country you live in.
"Well, Sara you have any questions?" asked RV, to the point as usual. Time was money, and he noticed that Sara was a little uncomfortable, so he thought to start the conversation so they could get started
Sara was a little surprised when he started the interview. But come quickly through the shock and replied as confidently she could master:
"Yes, you recently received the title "business man of year "Sara said, and RV nodded as an answer for her to continue.
How did it feel to hear it?" asked Sara, she thought it was wise to start with a safe question
RV looked right through her; after all he'd been a cop who lived by Reading People .
"Of course, it is an honor. It is really great to know that mine and my colleague's hard work are getting appreciated "said RV and Sara noted specifically the word my colleagues.
"So you came to Norway seven years ago, what was the reason for you to leave your home country?" asked Sara, really interested in knowing the answer. It had been long time when she was so interested in a story, maybe it was that RV screamed mystery but something told her that a very heartbreaking story was entwined with this man.
His eyes were coal black and it felt as if the room temperature had taken a U turn and become so icy that she would have thought winter had come back unless the sun had been visible from the window. Sara was no longer in doubt that RV carried with himself a very strong history which was characterized by very much pain.
But RV was a master at hiding feelings, as soon as his eyes had turned to dark, black color. Just as fast had his eyes turned back as they had been? You could not see the pain anymore, but you could feel the emptiness.
"I had to get out of India, because I wanted a new start. I wanted to start again, and Norway is according to UN one of the best countries to live in" answered RV honest, but he refrained to answer that Norway was very far away from India.
Sara nodded and wrote down on her notepad. She was unsure if she should ask the next question on her mind.
"Can I ask why you wanted a new start in your life ?"
This time RV was prepared on that question, so without blinking of the eyes he said:
"Well Sara, my life came at that stadium that each second was difficult to breath. I knew I had to get away. "RV said without emotion in his voice, but Sara and Shikar who both were in the room knew that RV was a very good at lying but they were not stupid either.
"I have one last question, what would you advice people that want to be like you and want a life like you? " Asked Sara.
"Don't wish for a life like mine "Ranveer said this time emotions breaking in his voice. Sara looked at him questingly, before she could ask why. Ranveer understood the mistake he made, and saved himself by saying:
" What I mean is that everyone should be there selves, because you only will find success when you are true to yourself and do what you love the most. Success for me never was and never will be about the amount of the money you have." Ranveer answered completely honest.
"If you try to be someone else, you won't make success you will mostly end up with depression" Ranveer advised, he would not wish his pain upon his worst enemy.
Sara wrote down , before she stood up and shook his hands for the last time and Shikhar went out to follow her out. Before she was out of the door , she turned around and said :
"RV ? "
RV looked up from a file and turned his attention to Sara and said : " Yes ?"
" Everyone is so happy that summer is here , all of us are tired of the long winter . But it look's like the winter's cold never left you " leaving Shikar compleately stunned , he had never seen anyone talk like that to his partner.
RV looked at the door which was closed and said in silently in Norwegian:
Ja, Sara vinterens kulde forlot meg aldri"
Ranveer took out a picture from the drawer, and got tears in his eyes. How happy they had been then.
Ranveer 's thoughts were interrupted by a phone ringing.
"Yes ? " RV said seriously.
"Sir , miss Vaghela is asking for you "
AN : So this Chapter is finally done :D I thougth this chapter will never be done ;) Really sorry for the late update , but felt very down with all the spoilers :( But thank's to LM and EH , I was able to Write this one .
