Hmmm! I've been thinking for a while that once Ekta in one of her interviews said Meri Aashiqui's isn't a "different" story; but I do not think it's really the same sort of story! The character portrayal of Ranveer, Ishaani and Chirag is awesome and other characters like Baa, Harshad etc. are nice too. Coming to the main theme, it's a Love Story. Though love stories can't be different as they're about a guy and a girl. Here, I feel (and Ranveer, too, said that), this is a love story from Ranveer's part not from Ishaani's. It's quite real. Something that any of us may face. Ranveer and the torment he's going through seems very real, to me. Ishaani hasn't been shown as an ideal girl as is quite common in other shows. She has flaws and makes mistakes. Again something that I can clearly relate to. Chirag is indeed a character I find quite distant, but have grown to like him too. Probably he is meant to be a distant character as we don't know of his motives and intentions. Whatever it is I want him to remain a positive character. This much positivity is rarely seen in TV shows. I don't watch them, my mother does; and looking at the characters I don't know what should I say as they, most of the time, cause their miseries on their own. And negativity zindabaad! I've liked Meri Aashiqui for various reasons, and found it different. Your views?
