Smriti adopts 15 children

Smriti Irani, who recently made her comeback as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has adopted 15 children. Smriti will look after the entire education expense of these children throughout their life.

Smriti Irani

Says a source, "Smriti has always felt deeply for the poor and underprivileged kids. She worked out the list with the head of Cine Artiste Association, Dharmesh Tiwari."

When contacted, Smriti confirmed the story, but refused to tell us how much this noble cause will cost her every year. She says, "Please don't ask me anything about money. But yes, I am helping the poor and underprivileged kids with their education. God forbid if they need any medical assistance, I will always be there to help them."

So who are these kids? Smriti says, "I will be helping the kids of the technicians from our entertainment industry. We often help other people who are far away but forget to look around us. It's time for me to give something back to the industry. We actors owe a lot to technicians who work behind the camera. We are what we are because of these people. We need to come forward and help them."
