Ramadhan Mubarak!
Just have some words to say before we start this holy month of Ramadhan.
I want to start by sharing some Hadiths regarding Ramadhan:
Rasulullah (peace be upon him) said, "When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the Heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained." [Bukhari] ...
Narrated Abu Huraira(r.a): The Prophet (pbuh) said:"... whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven." (Sahih Al-Bukhari).
We have to grab the blessing Allah has bestowed on us of granting us another Ramadhan. Lets make the most of this Ramadhan and hope to try and attain Allah's forgiveness and mercy inshAllah.
"Fasting is a shield for the believer."
It teaches us to learn how to control our desires so that we don't fall too deep into the luxuries of this dunya. Fasting teaches us compassion and patience. Fasting teaches us to appreciate Allah's blessings and be generous in giving to the poor.
Remember my muslim brothers and sisters, Ramadhan isn't just about not eating or drinking. we have to respect our fasts by refraining from bad deeds. It is a time to start afresh and clean, have our sins forgiven, a time when we get double the reward for our good deeds. Once the month is over, we shouldn't just get back to our old lifestyle of sins, rather this Ramadhan is a chance at a new beginning!
The Prophet (pbuh) said: "One who while fasting does not guard his tongue from telling lies and does not refrain from bad deeds, is not respecting his fast. Allah does not approve of mere abstention from food.
When you are fasting, you should not speak ill of anybody, nor should you be rough and noisy. If anybody speaks ill of you or tries to pick a quarrel with you, reply him not, but say to him that you are fasting."
