Heyy guys,

Alright for this time...I have a quote that's kinda deep. But I like it. 😛😊

Okay, here it is....

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." - Oscar Wilde

1.) What are your thoughts on the quote? Your thoughts on the first line?

2.) Is it wrong, for your thoughts to be someone else's opinion? 😕

3.) Don't you think the author exaggerated a bit when he said "their lives a mimicry"?

^ LOL. I don't think it's a figure of speech. It's his actual quote. He means it. If it was "just" a figure of speech..I don't think it would be included in his quote. 😳

the quote by itself is very intriguing. as in it will make you think.... there are very few and far in between of this variety.

2.) Is it wrong, for your thoughts to be someone else's opinion? 😕

That is a personal decision. but in most cases it cannot be helped. Many a times our thoughts are influenced by the opinions of those in our company. for e.g. you meet a person who is very cordial. but after he / she leaves one of your friends tells you, that he /she is not a good person. before your friend told you anything, your thought process about the person was un-biased and neutral. But after this it is bound to be affected by the thoughts of your friends.

3.) Don't you think the author exaggerated a bit when he said "their lives a mimicry"?

no I absolutely agree with the author on the thought. even if we see in our general day to day life. we see many people who are unable to make their own decisions. they rely on others to do so...

also for many people similarly their thought processes are also affected by the books they read, the things they see, hear, feel in everyday life. It is impossible to remain un-biased when you are constantly in touch of reality. there is always going to be some contamination in your thoughts of things that are not yours but are there as a result of the influences acting upon you.

P.S.: I didn't knew before I wrote this that I too could be so philosophical. 😆

Heyy. Yah I do know wht it is.. it can either be a simile, a metaphore..etc etc… or it can be words that are used to create a strong image. And .. actually now that I think about it.. humm ur right 😊.. it is kind of like a figure of speech…because the word "mimicry" that the author used, is a strong word. "Their lives a mimicry" .. gives you a strong image in ur mind.

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." - Oscar Wilde

1.) What are your thoughts on the quote? Your thoughts on the first line?My thoughts on this quote are that some people aren't really living a 'life' because every step of the way, they are only trying to become people that they're not and this way of life will ruin them in the long run"Most people are other people"---->this one short line has a significant meaning behind it....that most people live to achieve a life that was someone else's to begin w/ so that life could never be their's....their life story is yet to unfold.

2.) Is it wrong, for your thoughts to be someone else's opinion? 😕YES!!Why even try following other people's opinions when every person was born w/ and opinion to make of their own😕You are only what u make of urself...so why make yourself someone your not...why be that person that so doesn't talk the way you do and so doesn't act the way you do👎🏼

3.) Don't you think the author exaggerated a bit when he said "their lives a mimicry"?No;they are trying to basically 'mimic' a different life....I don't think it should be called a form of exaggeration, but instead a deep, true form of what is called the cold, hard truth
