With science, someone please help.
We mixed aluminium, calcium, iron, sodium, magnesium, and zinc with cold water, hot water, and dilute hydrochloric acid to find out how reactive the metals are and now I need to answer these questions, I've answered a few of them, I'll post the ones here which I need help with, can someone help me, this is very important.
1. Sodium is a more reactive metal than calcium, has a dentisy that is less than water's, and melts are 98C. What problems would you anticipate in trying to put out a fire if sodium was involved.
2. What relationship do you think there is between the date of discovery of a metal and how reactive it is.
3. How would chemical reactivity affect the extraction and use of metals.
4. Explain why copper is oftened used a roofing material for large building. Why do you think iron is only used for temporary roofing.
5. Copper is also used in water pipes, but in Roman times lead was used for plumbing. What makes both these metals sutiable for this use? What makes lead unsuitable?
