Today is 2nd March. On this day, the whole world celebrates

Old Stuff Day.

Now you folks must be wondering what significance this day holds? Well, it is pretty simple and self-explanatory. To be precise, it is about revisiting your old memories & rejuvenating them.

But most importantly, it's a day to reflect.

Researchers were unable to trace the origin or the creator of National Old Stuff Day, an unofficial national holiday. But celebrating the holiday in an appropriate way in diversified surroundings or involving yourself with unique hobby or project will definitely help your heart attain contentment.

Living in the 21st century which is full of modern stuff and gadgets which are advancing with each passing day, we've moved ahead from a beautiful era. There was a time when postman used to bring letters which used to make us gleeful. Today social networking sites/messaging has replaced this custom. A lot many past wonders have been forgotten for the new advent. And perhaps newspapers will too, with recent developments in techno field.

Its amazing how quickly science fiction grows in real. We form the present and posterity will form the future and as they'll prosper, it's our work and time that will be considered old.

It's never a bad idea to acknowledge the worth of others' artifacts. As Shakespeare says:

"Gainst death and all-oblivious enmity
Shall you pace forth; your praise shall still find room
"

So let's appreciate their compositions before we end up in the racks. 😉

Try referring to past things a bit, so that you will be out of your normal routine as well as indulge in zest.
😎

It is a day of vivaciousness, and we the CCs. would like you to celebrate it with full enthusiasm. So, do you remember the first post you made on IF? The First creation you posted in a creation gallery?

Maybe yes or maybe no.

Well then. this is the time revive those moments by going back and quoting the conversation you had for the very first time after joining IF; A comment you made in past which makes you chortle now- a special talk you shared with your friends in past by posting here (Let IFians know 😉) or by using old creations made by you or your favorite Graphicers as a token of appreciation.

They say old is gold, so go ahead and dig the riches! 😎

// Apart from that //

It's a day to get nostalgic: - Find some old photographs, trinkets and toys and then share those sweet memories with your family over a cup of coffee or tea.

It's a day to appreciate the classic: - Visit an old shop or an antique store and find something interesting like a statue or anything that reminds you of your old days.

It's a day to tidy up things: - Go through all your old stuff at your home. Do ask yourself whether you need all of it? If there's something you can get rid of, don't throw it away. You can gift your loved ones, or at least you can do a charitable work by donating it to the needy.

It's a day to learn: - Discovery channel, National Geographic Channel, Wikipedia, Family Stories. Revisit your favorite place and explore it or visit your local libraries. Books are man's best friend so read your favorite ones, if possible. There's so much to learn, discuss and explore from the past.

It's a day to tune in to that favorite song:- You can imagine how it feels- that playlist with a cup of tea/ coffee- Good heavens!

It would be pertinent to say, Use your imagination, modify your stratagem and have a fun filled day ahead! 😃

Regards,

Very beautiful thread and concept!

While a lot of technology has improved and become a lot more better and useful today, so much from the past has changed for the worse.

- Films don't have that family appeal anymore (talking more specially about Bollywood). Neither do the songs. No meaning. 90s were the best times ever.

- Even shows and Hollywood movies had more family oriented values in them.

- Today's world has turned into an ugly one where all we hear about in the news is random terrorist attacks against different groups or gun violence or even rape cases. Of course it happened before too, but seems like so much of these events have been happening more lately.

I don't know I'm an 89 baby...Haven't really experienced most of the 80s, but was too young for a lot of the 90s too. What I've seen post the 90s hasn't been as great as what I remember from my childhood. I really miss my childhood and the innocence that time period had.

What an innovative concept! 👏

Thank you for bringing it to light! 😊

I love old stuff and nostalgia! A lot of old stuff is still relevant.

Old remains in memories, helps understand why things are the way they are and put in perspective.

Of course old time friends and relatives rock. 😊

Thanks for this thread. 😊

Wonderful thread. Ur thread has made me nostalgic. Childhood was amazing. I am a 90's baby. I still remember this incident. When I was 3, I used to point out to a big school near my house and tell ,my parents that I was going to study in that school... My parents had a hearty laugh. I used to say it everyday..
I still remember the day when all of us family went to Kodaikanal for a trip. I remember asking Dad for a dress tht caught my fancy. He was ready to get it for me but Mom stopped him from doing so. I remember getting down from the car and sitting in the middle of the road and sulking 😆 Later, after an hour's persuasion, Dad and Mom got me a Kit-Kat and made me quiet.. Dad says that was one of the most unforgettable days of his life 😆

There are many more.. Am planning to share atleast 10 to 15 memories here since this thread is making me very nostalgic 😳

Beautiful thread girls As they rightly say,old is gold and when I read this thread, all those memories of a wonderful childhood,of fun times with family and friends, classmates and even certain teachers came to mind. As we live in this world where most of us are running to achieve one thing or the other, these memories bring a smile on our faces as we reminisce over the happy, the sad,the emotional and the exciting moments we have had that make life worth living and we look forward to making some more <3

Keep it up Team RAD 🤗👏
