My personal tribute to Mr Deepak Wadhwa

I suppose my interest in the character of Samar, was largely due to my subject of interest in psychiatry.

Deepak played the role of a psychopathic personality, with a criminal edge to it. Moral derangement is a concept introduced in 1812, which is known to occur among criminals who showed no sense of feeling, and or ethical sense, a conspicuous lack of conscience.

Deepak as Samar played to role to perfection, because it was not an overboard display of narcissism. Instead, he carried the role with a certain subtlety and dignity.

The first time I saw Samar in Kaali, was a temple scenario and it was a dark scene. A prayer was being held for the man he murdered, and he felt very uncomfortable to be present. I saw his agitation and needing to leave the place. However, Deepak being a very handsome actor carried the role very well, even deserving a trophy for acting excellence.

There has been many discussion and opinions of Samar the character in kaali. It provokes thinking and debates about why he became a very angry and misunderstood man. Lots of contributions were made and lots of conclusions were derived, some were psychoanalytical and others, mere laymans views.

However, I should take this opportunity to write about Mr Deepak Wadhwa who have successfully created a legion of fans.

He is obviously very good looking, cuts a fine slim figure and looks great in both traditional and western clothes. His features I find most exquisite are his eyes, nose, chiselled face and the list is endless!

His method acting is very admirable, although his dialogue is few but his expressions makes up for the lacking in script. I would like to see Deepak in other shows, and I will keep a watch for it. He should try various roles, and it would be interesting to see how he does romance. I am sure he can play any role very well.

The Indian film industry needs to spread their wings a little further and explore societal issues as psychiatry is becoming a less stigmatizing problem. The media can be used to educate people, and the younger generation need to understand life is not all love and romances.

On reflection, I wonder if I would have watched Kaali at all if it weren't for Deepak. Although I liked Samar, it was actually helpful to have Deepak who is a handsome actor play the role.

It is sad that the show came to an end, because I can't have my weekday dose of Deepak but I hope he would come back real soon.

Lastly but not the least, I hope to watch an interview of Deepak discussing Samar and his thoughts.

Deepak, come back real soon. Your legion of fans awaits you!!!!

Seena this was an awesome tribute and made an interesting read too 👍🏼.U seem 2 have a good knowledge of psychiatry. The character Samar made 4 endless discussions from us b'cos of the way it was potrayed by the actor Deepak Wadhwa and infact the subtle acting and xpressions from him made us dwell into the various intricacies of this complicated character Samar Tyagi.
Seena i fully agree with u that Deepak with his good looks playing the character Samar was an added advantage b'cos had it been any other actor i doubt whether i will get hooked 2 this character or not.
Now i miss my daily dose of seeing him and i find solace in watching VMs created by Alka and Ria.U know i often go back 2 our old discussion threads in the forum and watch the pics posted there.Coming here and reading all ur thoughts is a refreshing 1 4 me.

Yes, Minuu. I have contributed today to Deepak's profile. Also, I have two accounts now and will be a Dr Jekyll/MrHyde when making contributions etc. I will use Lucifer16 when making controversial-like statements.
I will be Seena07 when I want to be gentle, or to be taken seriously. 😊

I will use my Seena account, during my personal chit-chats with you gurlies!!

Yes, the forum is awfully quiet these days. I am waiting for something on Deepak to come along. I wonder if there were any farewell party pictures of the cast. Errr... Deepak has to be there, if not it is not worth seeing.

How about a question?
Which fictitious or real life character of past works whether of films or books do you think Deepak would be able to pull off well?

I like that question Ria... all of a sudden my mind trails back to Latter days! I could so see Deepak play any of the two male leads! :P of course Yashwant in the other lead :P

Or I would say I would like to see Deepak in the role of Alex Funettes from Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles <3 That book so much!

I wrote a fanfic based off that book on Vivan Bhathena like years ago lol

Okay, I have my thinking cap on now...
I would love to see him as Lord Krishna, or as a mythological character, he could be perfect as King Harischandra!
In modern roles, I think Deepak would look good as a/an:
- Indian nationalistic character (eg Subash Chandra Bose? perhaps)
- any modern aristrocratic figures whom are arrogant.
To move over to the Western fictional characters, I think he would look perfect as:
-Heathcliff in 'Wuthering Heights'
-Mr Rochester in 'Jane Eyre'.
? Sherlock Holmes
The Indian James Bond. (Deepak, certainly has the style to carry this role)
... I will add more as I go along...

Nice question,Ria 😃.The moment i read the question the role that came 2 my mind was that of Michael Corleone from the famous classic novel "Godfather" .Deepak would suit into that role perfectly well. If he ought 2 play a historical figure i would opt him 2 play the role of Adolf Hitler- Ruthless and arrogant.
