Baghban: Films that influenced you in real life

It's a very funny story of how I started volunteering in old age homes.

Ever since my parents watched the movie 'Baagban', they have had a nagging insecurity that their kids will move out of the house and never take care of them. That plus my mom's belief in those 'saas-bahu' soaps created a lot of melodramatic moments at our home. Once I lightly joked about these fears to my parents and they replied with yet another melodramatic dialogue "pehle jaao aur un maa-baap se puchho jinke saath aisa hua hai".

Just to show them, I logged on to Jaagore.com and enrolled myself as a volunteer at an NGO called Silver Innings. My parents forced me to attend a volunteer's meet there and so I had to go. But when I did go there, I realised that a lot of old parents actually had no one to care for them in their final years. Since then I regularly visit the old age home in my area and try to get my friends to help out too.

I would love to hear similar stories from you guys... Have you ever been influenced by any film like this? 😊

3 Idiots has I think because it has influenced me in making sure that I can choose a career that I want to do and my parents are always happy with what I do.
