Roadblock [ Raghav, Pallavi and their love]

So, I was trying to write one of my many unfinished fanfictions on these two and I kind of hit a roadblock. The point is everytime I try to maneuver a situation for their favour it changes the originality of either of the pair.

Either Pallavi transforms a bit, addled in the grey shade of her husband or Raghav changes a bit, diluting his darkness prefering the whiter shroud. In no way can I write something keeping both of them true to their character.

I don't want any of the two to change for the other in any way. And so the writing process is tedious and gets hamepered quite often. In times I overdo it or other times their seems to be no emotions involved.

This brings me to the conclusion that however much Raghav and Pallavi might be clashed closer to each other, can they seriously fall in love? I mean what we saw for the past few months.. transformations and changes which ultimately changed the entire canvas of a character (Raghav moresoever than Pallavi) in a desperate attempt to salvage and justify their relationship.

Phew! Maybe I am overthinking per se.

Yet somehow I cannot find a middle ground for their evolvement and subsequent transformation.. as some say is necessary for love to bloom.

Too different they are... just too bloody different..

I sympathize with you. I would probably never have written my first fan fiction on Pallavi and Raghav, except for this frustration with their dynamic on the show and feeling challenged to resolve it.

The reason that Raghav's redemption on the show failed is that it had no more depth than Pallavi feeling sorry for his tragedy and taking his side against Vijay, after which Pallavi lost all of her other relationships and became just a punching bag for Raghav.

Pallavi was established as a character who demanded justice for Mandar, outwitted Jagadish, Raghav, Seema etc., and made Raghav want to give her a chance. Within their marriage, she should be the same person, doing what she sees is right and demanding justice for Nikhil etc. And Raghav's appeal for me isn't in the ridiculous scenes of him doing the impossible (fighting with several men at once, working out while drinking whisky instead of water, conducting business rudely, getting away with crime), which are filler on the show. Raghav's appeal is that he wants to prove himself to Jaya, and to Pallavi, as a good person even though he takes advantage of a corrupt system. Raghav offered to give up crime if Jaya would live with him and love him as she did when he was innocent. The reason that Raghav never gave up easy money on his own, before asking for validation, is the memory of watching his father and brother die just because he couldn't pay back the money that he owed.

So, in my story, Pallavi doesn't nag Raghav as she did on the show, she just takes action to hold him accountable and assures him that she'll never abandon him. And Raghav doesn't change in response to Pallavi being hurt. Raghav in my story genuinely loves Pallavi for her righteousness, and he is torn between wanting to fulfill her expectations and wanting to stay in control for her safety and security. He values his commitment to her more than he expects loyalty from her.
