Epiphany! [A fun post]

I was watching the episode and thinking when I had an epiphanic moment. I mean, I had started watching mhrw for the humour and then got interested in the storyline and the character potrayal and then fell in love with RaghVi.

(Well, might as well confess, Raghav more than Pallavi.. ah haan haa.. wait a minute before judging.. it is not because I am woman.. I mean I have seen men who look twenty times better than Sai.. but mostly because I relate to him more than I understand Pallavi..)

Then as usual I started dissecting everything and analyzing them, characters, scenes, performances, costumes, lighting... bloody everything ( I have a fetish). And I was ecstatic at times, disappointed most of the times 🤣

There is no guarantee that there will be any consistency. So.. no logic, no character development, no growth, no reason, no nothing...

Show will start with a humongous amount of potential and then go downhill from the first hundred episodes routinely brushing sensitive issues under the carpet and ridiculing taboo topics.

The FL is sarvagun sampann.. she will be ferociously protective of her loved ones (will turn a blind eye to their numerous faults and will allow them to stomp all over her) and will be an absolute firecracker in front of the ML (which I love ❤, tbh, no issues there). Special mention for Pallavi because she stood up against the D fam.. once (a huge count for any ITV show.. claps 👏 truly). But the plus point is the FLs retain their characteristics throughout.. (pretty good job!)

The ML will be completely different from the stereotypical ITV ML's with an interesting (must be tragic) back story and deliciously layered. A lot of work is done on the MLs I have observed. Maybe a bias somewhere. Unique attributes, likable qualities and thousand and one faults which will send him into lengthy and rigorous redemption tracks (usually getting enlightened by the FL.. he is the rehabilitation project.. come on! 🤣). Lots of alcohol mostly is used in the equation somewhere.... (drinking is injurious to.... health?). All is well till one day the ML flips.. major character inconsistency and ruins his own relationship. 😑😑😑

The side characters mostly add comic relief. And are used for physical abuse (did you count the no of slaps being thrown around..?) Poor Sai 🤣.. I don't think he must have known his cheeks were going to be used as a percussion instrument.. (I mean RR is a gangster right? He throws punches around.. who would hit him..? Illusion much..?)

Then comes the chemistry 😍😍😍😍❤❤❤

No complaints there..

The tracks lose their suspense, the dialogues become cringeworthy, meaningful conversations are avoided at all costs and every other villanous character is forgiven without any reckoning or redemption (except the ML.. cue crying men are hot!) The Ex-es have pretty good character graphs and potrayal and then suddenly they are turned negative (coz.. hey! the lead pair guys... they are meant to be.. how can someone else become the bigger person and step back? Not possible.. nah ah!)

And then suddenly today I remembered hey, Anushkha.. be cool babes... this is a f**king ITV show. That also from a producer who managed to sink my favorite ship so hard that the Titanic had to hide its face in shame 🙄🙄🙄(& that was supposed to be his dream project...)

Then suddenly I am like WHY THE BLOODY HELL AM I SO INVESTED IN THIS SHOW!!!!? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

PS:- No offence please... to anyone(specially not the actors! They are great performers..respect their diligence).. it was a fun post..

If I think about it, it's a standard ITV template barring few things they deviated from. I tried listing few that come to mind.

1. The female lead isn't a roti dhoti bechari. She's strong, opinionated and can give anyone a piece of her mind (albeit it's only when things come down to her family, apne liye not so much).

2. The male lead has more problems than just a simple tragic past. Ismain he has 2 tragic pasts - death of family and betrayal by a girl. Why have one issue when you can add more and make the male lead more bechara.

3. Extreme whitewashing of characters because we don't know what's negative - they are grey bas.

4. Tackling of social issues - not sure why show them if you are going to just trigger the audience and leave it be.

5. Showing explicit scenes to trigger a negative reaction from audience and when shit hits the roof and falls on you, blame the same audience.

At the end of the day, it's a ITV show. Watch till you can else use the remote. Dimag nai kharab karna chahiye. This is me in zen mode talking. I may be pissed at RR tomorrow and lash out 🤣

PS: are you a scorned KHKT viewer? Did you have it in you to give sicku another chance??? Ufff.

Btw, I still love this show because we got the best redemption track we have ever seen in TV, we got to see a great progression of a love story with them communicating, getting to know each other (there was no eyelock, trip catch post marriage). It was just beautiful.

The execution of the show and most of all Saishi should take the credit for making the show what it is.

I'm judging you big time bro that you gave him another chance. This is my last show of his unless he plans to recast Saishi again together. I can kill my self-respect for them haha.

Listen, my suggestion, you need to move to the Zen mode to be able to still watch. This is a standard itv track we are getting (we aren't used to it na toh the reactions are extreme) and looks like it's working and that's why it will be stretched till we dont pull out some hairs from our head.

I'm watching too coz I know Raghav was trapped and is getting emotionally manipulated right now. Pallavi will break with the truth but will eventually come around to realise he wasn't entirely at fault. Raghav will repent and redeem himself and become the version of husband Pallavi deserves.

Audience who stopped watching will be back by the next track, few who aren't happy that Raghvi are still together may move on.

ITV shows works on same khichdi wali recipes bas tadka keeps changing 🤣 anyone experimenting with the khichdi is a strict no no and shown the door... After all its Rishta WOHI such NAYI... read content purana bas parcel naya 😵

Thank God this show at least gave me damsel in shining armour and knight in distress 😆 Chalu kuch toh alag mila 😛

But like a fool we get manipulated all the time (Ren, considering that I am accepting getting manipulated myself time and again, do you think I should be a little easy on Raghav being emotionally manipulated? 🤔)

I told myself I would watch khkt after it is completed only because it had kvg. Watched the initial 50-60 episodes which are good. Was so proud of myself that I stuck to it. But got sucked in with mhrw 😢. I binged on the show initial episodes without realising it is sikcand's show. What a dumb move 🙈
