I am getting really turned off by Vijay's character. From beginning I have felt that his love and care for Pallavi is skin deep. I could be wrong. But now his aggressiveness and anger/ hate for Raghav is getting too much. He said some real hard things in the precap. Lets hope something happened to push him to the extreme. Not trying to judge him but cannot help it either.

I also feel the same since the beginning, that his care is skin deep. It's more out of societal pressure with the need to feel mahaan about letting their widowed DIL live as a daughter. Aayi's love is genuine though. The man irks me so much, I'd rather not even think about him or try to analyze where he's coming from because I simply cannot fathom his point of view. His hate is totally uncalled for and he's hated Raghav from the beginning. If it was for what he did to Pallavi, I'd understand but this man just hates him...for what exactly? Vijay seems to be the kind of person who holds back his real image and envy's those who have no qualms being who they are. Dare I say, Vijay is jealous of Raghav. From the start. About everything he is and about everything Vijay can never be. Let's see what makes him utter such unbecoming words. You don't speak of a persons parents. That's low.

He's green with envy, that's the problem. Also Ayi threatening to leave him to search for Pallavi was a big blow to his ego that he couldn't bear.

I guess instead of a saas bahu, they want to make it a sasur damaad show where the sasur never appreciates or accepts the damaad.

I never saw his love for as skin deep but cannot blame you for it either as it does seem to be going overboard now. I had hoped the writers would have been more sophisticated and beneath this anger was a father who has lost his daughter to another man. When Pallavi married into the home she would have been his daughter but if she were to marry someone, then he would lose his daughter. I found signs of this in the initial actor who played Vijay but with the change in actor and the story progression this angle does not seem to be happening. Sometimes the writing team fails to update the replacement actor who has to do his best to step into a part midway without getting the background on the character or the writer's intent and the poor actor ends up giving the audience the wrong impression of the character.

What is also not clear is don't these people know why Pallavi married Raghav? I would have though the mother knew and she would be more supportive of her.

Yes. I did find it a well written part of the show and definitely offered the viewer something different. The emotional blackmail never sits well with me and that she took a stand was great.
