12/12/07 Wednesday Episode no 135

Starts with JSE talking with Kirtana. Nasally sympathizes for the nilamai of Tilaga and co. Kirtana pours more fuel by praising
Diwa and his family being very supportive. JSE is sad... Tamarai is at the back listening (eavesdropping!!) Tilaga comes on line and warns JSE to listen to her MIL as the inlaw family is "oru mathiri" JSE puts
the phone down, Tamarai charges at her as usual JSE does her "rain act" ( Tamarai borrows Roja's expression " water supply start aayachu, any one wants water can come and collect for free") Danda and bhootham barge in angrily. Danda wants to know why the phone was engaged for over an hour. he was trying to reach home but found it continuously engaged. Tamarai "pottu kuduthufies" JSE. Danda
shouts at the telephone bill mounting, bhootham supporting - finally JSE says that she did not make the call but only received the call from her sister and mom. MIL supports JSE but Danda is still angry.

Half baked nut at interview. The lady imposes a condition for giving her the job. "no pregnancy for atleast 2 years because we have to train u and we do not want u taking off, otherwise u are qualified and we will give u a good salary, say what?" Nut hesitates and finally says yes " job is a must for me now, baby can wait" (athu sari veetukku pona
MIL and FIL vera plan le irukkarathu theriyum, appo than Diwali!!! athu sari, customer interaction, accompany them to project sites nnu job description, athukku porumai nnu oru commodity venume, athukku
Sakthi enge povaa?? that must have been made as a condition, appo konjam nut will mature!!) However, the lady wants nut to consult hubby and call her.

Megala and family - All the members conduct a felicitation ceremony " Megala illatha life ennathu?? odi pona appavai kaapathu!!" - a la Puthiya Mugam song. Athai alone refuses to join the fan club and
sings" yen thambi yai pol oru deivam illai, avan odi ponaalum kavalai illai " To cut a long story short athai asks about moving to a "house" and mesthry enters to convey a good news. "Got a house near
our site, got the keys too" . Supplier also times it well - calls Megs and waives the 5 lakhs deposit" your talk with the customers impressed me, if they are ready to trust you, why not me?" Megs is jubilant, disseminates the info, all are happy and athai has her usual kadu kadu face.

Jagdu, the buffering was real bad, did not catch the rushes!!!

Episode 136 - Thrursday

House seeing process - Mesthry (kanakku pillai??) is showing around as if he owns the place. SSE and her clan is happy about the house and plan for the "paal kaichum" ceremony for the next day. Sakthi is pensive and sitting on the threshold - visions of her family being thrown around, the lady at the interview saying "no" to baby for the next 2 years at least.... - Nut caresses her tummy and has a look of melancholy. FIL and MIL inside gloating about the "coming" new addition - MIL is making carrot halwa with plenty of ghee saying that
if Sakthi eats that all will go to the baby and recalls as to how she waited for 3 years to conceive Diwa... Diwa comes in and asks nut about the interview. She says that the job is hers with a condition...
All look expectantly at her and she goes on to say that any company she goes to work might have such conditions and it is advisable to sacrifice this baby .... MIL is furious, goes to the kitchen and dumps the halwa in the trash can... leaves the spot... FIL follows suit... Diwa says a "che".. nut looks lost ( no sympathies from mad Roja also.. there are so many ways of avoiding conception .. but once conceived it is equivalent to murder.. and for reasons like this... If money is what u want there are umpteen ways of earning it.. this is also child abuse ,, in fact the worst form of abuse, starting even before the baby is born!! uh huh)

Tamarai and bhootham - Tamarai is inspecting bro's limbs to find out if he has any disability -bhootham is all keyed up , wants sis to spill out and viola.. Tamarai has a field day - she "pottu kuduthufies" about JSE calling Diwa a nicer person blah blah ( nalla sarakku serthu suthuthu intha vaayadi.. apppaaa some woman!!) Bhootham pushes JSE inside and gives her a bit of his mind - "Diwa just consoled by
words but my father has given 40 lakhs, na enna mattamaa?" JSE tries to reason out but he is all jumpy. JSE wants to be divorced but now bhootham does not want that -'appo u were just my wife but ippo 40 lakhs kadankaari, so I wont do that" - leaves and JSE does what she normally does with her asthma more prominent. (JSE , u are such a fool, by now u should know him well - he negates any thing u say - hold on to him and beg him that u want to live only with him for the rest of your life and bingooo u get your divorce!!!)

Diwa's mom and dad are sitting outside. Diwa comes and tries to placate. Mom is very upset and Diwa consoles saying that nothing will happen to their grand child. MIL asks Dowa to take Sakthi for a
check-up to the hospital and Sakthi hesitantly reiterates her wish " I have decided to abort this kid" - MIL is shocked.

Jagdu, sorry for disappointing u again - but I did catch some of the rushes - for once JSE seems to say some thing with authority, bhootham guns for her neck, SSE showing a shocked expression, athai kadu kadu....

Episode 137 - Friday ( I am allowed to edit my posts and so
I am doing a short cut update!!)

Diwa's house - recap of last night - Sakthi puts forth her arguments.
" I am the one who has to bear and deliver the child. My opinions do not matter???" ( Jagdu, did u write her lines??!!) She also says that she is more upset than any of them but has no option - her family needs money and she has to chip in. No one is able to see her point - looks like what hurts Diwa more is her unilateral decision, MIL packs her bag and leaves for Pushpa's (Oh my God, some more ammunition to that lady who just waits for issues like this!!) house asking FIL to follow - he runs behind her, Diwa looks helpless, Sakthi ditto...

Kalai clan in new house. Auditor comes and informs that they need atleast 10 lakhs to get back to business. Megs is at a loss and athai does not miss the chance to sing her usual " Thambiyai pole oru deivam illai". She chides Megs for leaping around with out any clear directions. Thatha declares that he will sell the land and house in the village to bring in some funds. Car mechanic times it well to enter and asks for 25,000 rs towards repair. Sezhiyan asks him to sell the car -"take your dues and give me the rest" - athai talks about "raasiyaana car" but Sezhi cuts her off - " pay the 25,000 rs and bring the car. Leave it outside the house with out petrol and so pooja" Athai has no answer. Sezhi looks at SSE ( now she does the saucer act!!) and confirms the deal.

Danda's house - Tamarai has a face pack on, hubby is cooing with his kid - talk about the naming ceremony - date is decided and now on to the invitee's list - Mrs.D wants to invite her sambandi Tilaga and co which is negated by Tamarai " athungale ippo nadu road le nikkuthunga. namba kooppitta,inge vanthu dera than, kilamba mattanga, appa kku more expenses..." goes on and on which infuriates JSE FINALLY she summons enough courage to shout back at Tamarai " enga familyai pathi inime yethanum pesinaal apram na enna pannuvennu enakke theriyathu" - for once she uses her eyes to show anger 👏👏 - the whole family is stunned by that outburst....

17/12/07 Episode 138 - Friday

Danda's house - Danda, bhootham and Pechi Muthu on the dining table - eating the same old idlis ( let us start a discussion on serials
with/with out idlis!!!) Tamarai bounces with her partly washed face
( must be comparing pre/ post face-pack effect!!!) - " if you can not
call your sambandhis, would you stop doing all that needs to be done for naan petha thangam? what if they come here and bring all the
kadankarans to our threshold?" JSE makes 2 big saucers of her eyes, controls tears!!! (way to go, we are fed up of floods in Chennai!!)and fumes : "No one in my family is waiting for the invitation, one more word about my family, mariyadai kettudum". Angu( Mrs.Danda) tries to contain Tamarai ( no mean task lady... try your luck) and seeks the help of hubby "' hello, can u shut your daughter up?" Danda is shrewd - he never believes in undertaking impossible tasks - supports Tamarai " why should I? her words are harsh , may be(??!!!)but there is truth in it". JSE goes on " life changes for every one, what happened to my family can happen to any one tomorrow" - Danda is quick to retort
" so u want our family to become like yours?" JSE now reasons
( vetti velai) " she talked so much but you never once stopped her but when I just said one word, it hurts you?" Bhootham jumps up as he does not want to be left behind , goes and hits JSE a few times - drawing/dining becomes screaming/warring zone. Danda finds an easy escape route. Asks Angu to take over peace talks " Your DIL needs all the advise and arrange for the naming/thottil function on Wednesday" - stage cleared.

Nut and Diwa - Diwa is getting ready to go to work(??? oh office is still alive??!!) Nut brings lunch box which is refused promptly by Diwa. Nut decides to rub salt to his wounds (Roja pats herself, atta girl, u are on the dot about calling this girl half baked nut!!) " I made food for you and if u go with out it, I feel bad. Are u not hungry or don't u like it?"
( this woman can make an ice berg explode in to a forest fire!!) Diwa is angry but still tries to explain patiently. " my parents mean a lot to me and I am their whole world. They just want a normal family life. You drove them away and now u want me to eat?" Nut hurriedly defends herself saying that she did not drive them away. Diwa is livid with anger. "talking as if u have no role to play in their leaving? the moment my parents came to know that your family is in trouble, my mom gave the house documents to bail them out. How can u say that they do not want to help your family?" Nut goes on tangent now " oh your mom did that because she wanted to show off - that my family has gone down in status. Now they do not want me to help my family" - ( Roja becomes wicked - wish u had a SIL like Tamarai, u will know what life is!!) The back and forth arguments end up in Diwa getting out saying that he can not imagine living in the house with out his parents. Nut is pensive. Adorns the staircase with her presence....

Pushpa's house - Diwa trying to placate his parents. His father puts up his hands and expresses his inability to reason out to nut. Mommy wants Diwa to promise the safety of the unborn child and Diwa is unsure. Mommy refuses to come back home. Pushpa arrives with hubby in tow. Mr.Pushpa doles out free lessons on wife beating and how to judge situations warranting that act. Pushpa has the last word
" if u are convinced about what you are doing, u need to put your foot down and stand firm" - An already confused Diwa scratches his head vigourously....

Early update 12-18-07

Shakti goes to see her mom. Without beating around the bush I'll tell all her advisors that she's not made a resolution about her baby to cut long things short. She announces to her mother that she's pregnant. Thilaga forwards her sob story of hand to mouth existance. Athai comes with big face, and walks in.
The 3 who refuse their houses in the resort go to see some big shot surrounded by an olympic pool. The brown hair dyed gunda and his advisor discuss creating trouble for Meghala. The gunda is told to buy off the resort buyers and short them all totalling 8-9 crores. Later they decide to use the 3 to ferment trouble for Meghala.

Megala Ep 140 Brief Update

Kuraivathu Selvam, Kuraiyaathathu kalvi

1) diva & shakti comes to a compromise to keep the baby and find another job. shakti gives pushpa as an excuse citing that she will only quarrel with her thus she asks diva to go and fetch his parents himself.

2) anita returns from her trip and finds out the predicament that megs and her family is in. the new baddy (his name is thiagu) appears and insults megs and asks for the money for the 3 guys who came to complain to him. kalai's kanakkupillai (seems scared of him) comes and send him away saying he will advise megs.

Thanks blugal for the update. I will give a detailed update as rojakka and jagdu are busy. If you don't mind, someone can give a short preview just to keep the IF friends updated. I will come the next day and give a detailed update. After I watch it at 9 pm, I am tied up with chores at home and get ready for the next day. Deal? sorry for not trying to give suda suda detailed updates.

Shakthi comes by auto and is preoccupied with thoughts about her baby and her mom. She realises a little later that the auto has just crossed her house and asks the auto driver to reverse. Diwa is waiting on his bike outside becoz the house key is with shakthi. Shakthi asks Diwa if he waited for long time but Diwa says he has been waiting for only 10 minutes. Both seem to have cooled down a little and are not sandai kozhis anymore. Shakthi tells Diwa that she went to see her mom coz she felt like it. Diwa asks her if she told her mom about the baby. Shakthi tells Diwa that her mom was happy about the baby but mom told her about their bad financial situation. Shakthi tells Diwa she gave the topic of keeping the baby or going to a job deep thoughts and she decided that both are important and so she decided to keep the baby.(Shakthi still seems to be half hearted about keeping the baby).As if she read the updates, she said she, like an average girl, has dreams about her baby. magaraasi, enna seyyap poraalo, later? poruththirundhu paarppom. jagdu, yes she made IF viewers happy with her decision.:)
Diwa is happy and asks shakthi to come with him to bring his parents back. Shakthi asks him if his parents would still let her go to work when she is pregnant and Diwa assures her that it is not a problem. Shakthi tells him she deosn't want to come to pushpa's house and apologise to her inlaws coz she still thinks whatever she said, seems right to her. Shakthi also tells she doesn't want to face pushpa and create more problems coz shakthi can't keep her mouth shut if pushpa hurts her feelings.

Anitha and Megala are walking near the constuction site and Anitha feels bad that she was not there when her help was needed. She had to go out of town(ennappa seyradhu? vere serials le commit pannitten).Megala says that it is good in one way that Ani was out of town, coz she could be more strong without depending on ani.
The villains come as a batallion and demand the money for the 3 buyers who opposed meg's proposition. Megala egirufies to them without having the slightest idea of how big a rowdy he is. kanakku pillai comes and kai kattufies and vaay poththufies and tells them that he will talk to meg and settle the amt and begs them to leave the place. Villain leaves. Kanakku tells meg about villain's powers and meg seems to be very bold. anitha wonders and ore heroine worship thaan...nee varum podhu oomai maadhiri vandhe. enakke aacharyama irukku, nee adhe meg aa nu etc...) Megs ku oru jolna pai. abi and selvikku hand bags. Heroine image maintain pannanumilliyaa?:)

Rush: Kanmani and thamarai with kanmani doing the saucer act.
Megala doing the saucer act. Bootham and mom shocked.
God, these rushes go by so fast.

This time Shakti does not take center stage 😭 .
The mother of TGA(Meghala)is surrounded by fly. The dr. tries to make her say 3. After the dr. leaves she writes on a note that lover boy is free to marry TGA. Lover boy pulls out his sobbing skills.
The scene shifts to the rental where the thilaga's youngest one is putting a shopping list. Thilaga tells of how each rupee is important. In comes Selian announcing he's spent 800 Rs. on a haircut in some expensive saloon. Thilaga muses about how they could afford lots of things with their father around and now have to be careful. Opening for Athai, usual speech about her brother. Thilaga lashes back saying Shakti dear will bail us all out, wait and watch. Athai changes tracks for the same old oratory about the runaway bride. Slip of tongue she blames thilaga and TGA blasts Athai in a way the eruption of mount st. helens would have been dwarfed.

20/12/07 Episode 141 Thursday

Pushpa's house. Pushpa brings coffee to Diwa's parents who are
sitting in the backyard. Dad wants more sugar but mom shoo shoos him ( yov, diabetes vanthudum, thevaiyaa??) Pushpa asks chithi about doing the house work and chithi wallows in self pity " ungalukku already burden, must do at least this illiya?" Dad is now more composed and tries to reason out about misunderstanding within family. Pushpa blames Diwa for being spineless and dad quickly defends sonny boy. Pushpa's hubby agrees with a " getting torn between mom and wife is probably the most painful experience for a man" - ( paavam, talks as if he as gone through that pain - well, with this Pushpa's temper/gossip , I can sympathize with him!!) Diwa makes an entry, tells his parents about nut condescending to have the baby after all and asks them to pack their bags.

Viswam and his ever crying dad watching the doctor giving speech therapy to Lakhshmi. Doctor wants her to call Viswam but she is not able to. Doctor goes on to make her say three - oh no, she can't do that but joins hubby in crying. Doctor makes a quick exit and she tries to convey her acceptance to bring in SSE as her DIL - Viswam is overjoyed but like his father has the most pessimistic streak - "wish u could convey by mouth and not by writing" - ( guess this is what is known as counting one's blessings!!) He goes on to mutter, "ava enakku kidaichduva, nichiyama" - repeats a few times.


SSE cutting brinjal,tomato etc., Kirtana brings the grocery list - Tilaga finds it beyond their means and chides Kirtana. Athai sings her usual "yen thambi yai pol oru deivam illai" - Sezhiyan walks in with a new hair cut, facial and bleaching - he just blew up 800 rs - another sermon about the money crunch. Kanakku pillai walks in asking for the advance for the house. Kirtana suggest selling the jwellery, athai refuses to give hers, Kirtana shouts but SSE pacifies. Thatha laments about the situation and Tilaga consoles " after 2 months Sakthi will bring her salary,, then we will be fine". Athai questions again about Tilaga's rosham - " odugali panam vaangi sapidanumaa?" - This flares up our SSE 👏 👏 " vaayai moodunga, she did a mistake but she is still our sister and our mother's daughter. If u can't accept fine but we can not disown her" - More than the admission, the flaring up by SSE stuns athai who becomes speechless for once!!!

Jagdu, the only rush I could catch - SSE being hit in the head and falling down - not sure if it is for tomorrow or much later!!!

21/12/07 Episode No 142 Friday

Recap from yesterday - Megs shouting at athai - rest of the clan enjoying - a stunned athai finds her voice " Oh, I am here with you only because of my brother. What if he comes back and asks me about deserting you all?? Once he comes back, unakku irukku, unga ellarukkum irukku" - moves away. Kanakku pillai was witnessing all
this. Once he knew that the drama is over and the curtains are down, chooses to take leave. Tilaga applauds Megs and goes on a lamenting spree - " I am worried only about you SSE, got Nut and JSE married successfully(???!!) but you are elder to both and how am I going to send u ashore??"(literal Tamil le translate pannikkanga ellarum!!) Megs is all ready with an answer " I have lived away from all of u so long, I dont plan to marry, I am going to live for ever with you all" - moves inside.

Nut sweeping - ding dong - opens door - FIL, MIL and hubby - welcomes them. Nut apologizes to FIL but he goes on a sermon spree - after talking for full 3 mins, looks for appreciation from wifey who (much to my delight!!) cuts short the vetti pechu and becomes action packed. Sends DIL and sonny boy to the doctor, prays to God. Hubby wants to know the details - " DIL kku nalla buthi kudu, nalla padiya grandkid ai pethu kudukkanum" - Fil gets smart and asks " What if your DIL prays and asks for a change of heart for her MIL?" Durga throws a look which says " pechukku onnum koraichal ilai"!!!

Thyagu - the 3 brothers meet - ask about their flat - Thyagu says that he does not want to oppose a "pombalai pullai" - the bros beg - Thyagu condescends and says that from now on it is his issue, instructs subtly to his cronies " antha pottai pullaikku konjam kathu kudungappa, enna?"

Hospital - Nut - doctor gives the usual advice - pharmacy - collecting medicines - the boy gives wrong medicine and the supervisor chides -
" this is for abortion and what is written on the prescription is different" - Nut caresses those tablets but the man pries it off her hands and gives the right ones. As they come out, Tamarai and baggage hubby sitting with their baby - Tams is very happy to get a chance for "lage lage" and starts her dialogue about odugali and kadankara daddy - not to be outdone, Nut varinju kattufies her sari and lashes back - both the ladies call themselves as 'decent family" and talk the most indecent words. The hubby crowd is helpless - both try to shut their spouses up ( why engage in futile efforts, guys??) - finally, Tams ends by saying "your sister is still in my house, I will show her who I am, I will see her one hand today" - Nut leaves - Tams fumes.

Rushes - Jagdu, looks like u are in for a disappointment.
In the rushes I saw a lot of domestic violence and rowdy violence - Megs being hit in the head, JSE being thrown out from a car after bhootham gunning for her throat - Tilaga and clan crying in hospital......

Monday 24/12/07 Episode 142

Danda's house. Danda and Bhootham on the way out for collection. JSE gives tea. Angu is away shopping. Tams enters with hubby in tow. Pushes the tea tumblers down and starts shouting. All set to do "undu illai" JSE. JSE does her saucer act. Tams compares herself to "Surpanagai" of Ramayanam ( this woman is amazing - comes up with apt comparisons!!) Talks about Sakhthi shouting in the hospital. Tams says that Sakthi demeaned the whole family calling them "kaasukku parakkara gumbal". Danda is furious and wants to know if Tams kept quiet hearing all this. But Tams negates and says that she doled out her choicest words. She adds more fuel by telling bhootham about Nut's opinion about him - "kudigaran, useless kattu mirandi" - Bhootham flares up and degrades JSE's family. JSE explodes and speaks her mind with out fear. She says that if Nut had called him all that , there is absolutely nothing wrong because he fits that bill well. She confirms that this is a "kaatumirandi gumbal" and warns - "one more word about my family or my sister, u guys can consider yourselves dead" - Bhootham engages in wife beating (disgusting scene, Sara and Amutha trying to stop him, Tams and hubby having a BG finger pointing, Danda enjoying sonny boy's loyalty to family.. uh huh) - Finally bhootham pushes JSE in to the car and drives away.

JSE and hubby in the car - JSE wants to get down half way but Bhootham wants to go all the way to her house - not because he is concerned about her but he does not want to miss an opportunity to ask "naalu vaarthai,nakkai pidingikkira thu pole" - JSE threatens that she will jump out of the car if he does not stop. He stops the car and as she opens the door, pushes her on the road and speeds.

Nut and Diwa - Diwa trying to pacify nut " kovam vantha enna pesarennu unakke theriyalai, now JSE will face the music, do u realize that u jeopardize every one around you?" - Nut justifies her act " had she talked about me, I would have kept quiet, but she has no business to ridicule u" - MIL listens to this argument and sides DIL " no woman can tolerate her hubby being tarnished, nut did right". Diwa is exasperated, Nut happy about MIL supporting, MIL happy that nut did not"vittu kuduthufy" Diwa to others. MIL advises DIL that she should stop getting emotional like this as it is not good for the baby and sends them to sleep. Has a satisfied look.

Angu is back and Amutha narrates the whole drama. Angu fumes and frets. Tams chides her for not being the proverbial MIL - " namba kudumbathile naalu per kitte unnai pathi perumaiya pesa kooda mudiayalai. Nee marumagalukku mukkali thookarennu sonna evalavu kevalam?" ( apdi podu, ithu kaatumirandi gumbal nnu solla vera enna proof venum??!!) Sonny boy enters fully drunk. When asked about JSE " sethu poittannu vaichikko" - Angu knows that it is futile to make any effort,sends him in. Danda walks in, Angu confronts but Danda can not fathom her concern..... Angu asks Amutha whether they can call JSE's home but Amutha advises against. Angu is all upset and polambufies.....
