And what will it take to bring Kunal back and get rid of Ranveer? Vikas is the only judge I like nowadays.

chef Ranveer is too much, I try to defend him but these days I am not able to do that, I don't know clips are being edited or what, but its too much sacchi mei.

accha, people wanted to see chef Sanjeev Kapoor also, but may be I am the only one here, but I don't like his attitude, he just praises himself, just try to notice him, he once says ki "menu par bas sanjeev kapoor kaa sign ho jae toh menu kaa price 100000 ho jata hai" (Kapil Sharma show), I have also noticed him praising himself so many times, secondly he seems little arrogant to me (may be I am using my brain too much) but I feel that he is.

Yes, chef Kunal is good, but I don't know why they don't bring him, btw I think chef Vikas approaches the chefs, as far as I remember chef Garima once said in one of the interviews ki chef Vikas called her for MCI, so may be he only approaches chef Ranveer every time.

Which season was this? I think the flight challenge was season 1 or 2. For Rajaji, they went to Rajasthan. I think that was season 3.

I skipped epi. Kenny is out that was obvious from precap. I did watch next week's precap and it infuriated me.

Again same teams - Nidhi, Harry, Aashiq vs Nambi, Rukshar, Suraj. Kriti not visible in this challenge so either she's safe or has the black apron directly. She isn't in the balcony or at least not visible in any shot. Again problems for first team - kachi gravy. I bet first team will lose again so that they can eliminate Harry.

One challenge will involve switching with the contestant at your counter midway. Rukshar is alone at her counter so I guess she gets the advantage of not having to switch with anyone because while Aashiq-Nidhi, Nambi-Suraj, and Harry-Kriti are explaining to each other their dishes, she keeps cooking. Arre baba end the season and give her the trophy already.

Todays episode was again so disappointing. so Kenny won the first challenge and had an advantage - he should’ve given out spice mixed that others would struggle to use. He only gave a slightly tough one to Kriti. Who in their right mind gives Ashiq a South Indian (with French influence spice)? He should’ve given the tea masala to someone who’s not a dessert person, also giving ras el hanout and zaatar which are so similar to Indian spices is like setting yourself up for failure.

Anyway Kenny’s problem today was inexperience and nervousness, and I attribute that to his age. The moment he realized he forgot chicken, he went into panic mode and there began his downfall. Of course he didn’t have enough time for his pide, but he couldn’t think of option B. His dish clearly lacked taste, innovation and presentation.

Harry has been very lucky to avoid the black apron. Today he made a ratatouille with couscous and a garlic sauce. Plating was horrible. I think he knows his flavours well, but is a slower cook than others and can’t put multiple elements on a plate. You’ll never see him add something just for presentation because he doesn’t have the time.

Nidhi - making a litti chokha is so predictable from her and very boring. I wonder why the judges never call her out for her presentation, which is always so basic. Anyway her dish looked boring, the salad looked like an after thought. I’m glad the judges criticized her dish (but also praised it).

Aashiq - his playing was phenomenal, but that’s expected. I’m a little fed up seeing a purple papad on his plate each time. He made a kori gassi with lamb chops and papardelle. Disappointed because he made a dish from his region again (with a little twist). I really expect him to do better. His dish was praised, only Ranveer said that expectation is higher from him.

Kriti made a dessert. I was worried when she got the Japanese seasoning. I didn’t think she’d be able to pull it off. But Ranveer tapped his spoon, Pooja loved it and Vikas praised it too. It sounded delicious!

I wish they’d have had some different spice mixes, these were easy to use in Indian cooking - except the one Kriti got and one italian(ish) seasoning. I wish they’d have given them something that couldn’t be used in Indian cooking.
since it’s the semi final now, we should stop expecting anything. Let’s just hope the best man/woman wins.

So, I was kinda gripped about the challenge when it was announced that spice allotment by Kennie but I wasn't impressed the outcome & the execution of the episode.

Nidhi- When I heard she's making litti chokha, I was apprehensive since the maternal side of my family's from UP and she proclaimed to be oblivious towards it. I wasn't impressed by the way she presented her food. Plus, serving a greek salad accompaniment sounded so outlandish. Plating was average as usual. Not her best dish.

Also, I don't know what's the obsession that the makers have with her cooking with open hair as it is unhygienic in the professional kitchen.

Kriti- I'm actually interested in how she used the Japanese spices in a dessert, even though she went the dessert route. So, all in all, it was a good move when she tried to comprehend the concept of the spices. The ganache with the togarashi spice seemed tasty. I would say plating wasn't actually that bad but could've been better. My advice for her would've been to scrutinize some Punjabi savory classics with the same spices.

Lol, when Ajay commented towards Pooja about Kriti's dessert, pata nhi kyun, but it seemed more like a indirect taunt from Ajay to improve her judging method.

Harry- he made a ras el hanout ratatouille with herbed couscous, roasted garlic sauce & lemon basil foam. He cooks too slow & his plating wasn't impressive. Also, I didn't like his overconfidence over his dish in general.

Lol, I'm flabbergasted that Pooja critiqued his dish at his station 😂 🤣 Lol, I guess, she was made to taste the dish at last lol. 😂 🤣

Ashiq- he made a spagetti with a kori gassi, jeera papad, and some baked chops with the Vadouvan spices. I'm not impressed with the overall idea & plating. He needs to improve his graph, IMO. No doubt his taste game is good, but this isn't best one.

Kennie- he looked frazzled in the first-go, IMO. Like @raina101, it's attributed to his age. Plus, the chicken mishap aggrandized his nervousness to the next level. Even though he's ousted from the competition, I give him kudos for admitting about his losses in the comments. He knew he didn't deliver the dish & the dish visually looked inadequate in proportions.

accha I remember Gurki saying that he is scared of chef Garima as she was very strict, "vo jab bhi meri table par aati hain toh mujhe lagta hai ki sab bas theek se hojae, kyunki vo bohot zyada technicality ke bases par judge karti hain" (something like that).

What I could understand is ki the clips were edited whenever Gurki was corrected on something by chef Garima, (may be too much brainstorming by me once again).

Did he say this in the context of MCI only?

which means that they actually fake praise some of the contestants?
