Todays episode had a blindfolded taste test, where they tasted Veeba sauces and had to guess the ingredients. Very disappointed that now they’re making contestants taste packaged sauces. I know Veeba is their sponsor, but this seemed odd.

Thereafter there were two mystery boxes - one where you could see the ingredients - black eyed peas, grapefruit, and other known ingredients. Only three contestants chose this mystery box. Others chose the unknown one, which when revealed shows ingredients like Quail, habanero peppers, blue cheese, black lemon, etc.

I’m surprised most chose the unknown box, but I understand 15 minutes extra made them do it. Nidhi chose the first box and played safe; which disappointed me. If you’re so good then take the challenge. She used her advantage that she got from Chef Marco and got 5 extra minutes.

Surprisingly Nambi got bad comments today, but as usual Nidhi and Rukhsaars dishes were praised. Before even tasting Nidhi’s dish, the praises started!!

For contestants like Kriti, Shubhojit, Ashiq - while they recieved mostly positive comments, the negatives looked forced. I mean there weren’t any string points to criticize.

Honestly, it has become so predictable, I hope they don’t come up with another season (though I’ll still watch it).

Overall, poorly executed episode because a lot of the ideas just seem repetitive and nothing innovative. Nidhi's lacha paratha/lobia kofte/passion fruit curry is really not praiseworthy. A lot of the contestants are still sticking to their roots.

As usual, Pooja goes to Kriti and Kennie only because they are cooking desserts lol. 😂 🤣

Very little comments because Ranveer's a diehard fan of Nidhi's bakwaas dishes.

I personally feel that the contestants who chose the safe box had more advantage as they had 15 minutes to actually calmly plan out their dishes before prepping.

What I found problematic about yesterday was that they gave 2 mystery boxes and the covered one was harder than the uncovered one. I was expecting a simpler mystery box so that those who played "safe" would end up with a harder task for playing "safe".

Other than that quite predictable. Basically Nidhi, Nambi, and Rukshar will be in semi-finals. And probably Aashiq, Suraj, or Kenny. The others will all be out. They are heading towards crowning one of the first 3 as winner this season for staying "true to their roots".

Todays was a team task and I’m baffled by the selection.

Rukhsaar said she wanted both Kriti and Suraj in her team because she wanted Nidhi not to have a dessert specialist so if it’s a dessert making competition she would win. Did she not think of it was a savoury contest who would win?

The teams are:

Nidhi - Ashiq, Harry, Shubhojit, Prachi

Rukhsaar - Nambi, Kenny, Kriti and Suraj

Both teams are evenly poised, Ashiq and Nambi as expected were the first to be picked.

Menu:

I liked Rukhsaars teams menu - it has some Lucknowi sheekh kebabs, Borani banjen (an Afghani Aubergine dish) with Kashmiri saffron rice, Tres leches cake (infused with Kashmiri Kehwa flavours) and a panjiri crumble.

Nidhi’s team has some grilled prawns with a warm salad, Bengali style chicken served with coconut rice, and a Himachali pancake with Phirni.

I think Rukhsaar has a lot of influence on her teams menu, almost every dish has Kashmiri elements, while Nidhi’s menu has a little bit from each contestant. The judges surprisingly thought otherwise.

Rukhsaars team is working fairly well, with each person assigned to do something. They’re all taking responsibility of their selected elements.

Nidhi’s team divided the work fairly well but there’s too much chaos, quite a few mistakes and I see nobody is happy with Harry’s pace.

Blunders - both teams have had their fare share of blunders, from Rukhsaars kebabs not holding on to the sheekh to Shubhojits burnt masala and a lot more in between.

Captaincy - Everytime they showed Nidhi, she was literally making phirni/Khoya. She isn’t even checking on her team at all. The chefs have pointed this out to her.

Rukhsaars also was stuck on her kebabs and don’t go to check on the aubergines and told Nambi that the kebabs were more important at that moment (she was right, as a starter they’d go out first). But overall she’s keeping an eye on things better than Nidhi.

let’s wait and watch to see who wins. I hope Rukhsaars team wins. They’re more in control at the moment

Team challenge was so deplorably edited & executed. First of all, why are some of the players in open hair in a restaurant kitchen especially Prachi, Nidhi, and Nambi? This is unhygienic and unsanitary.

Rukhsar's menu is better than Nidhi's one & Nambi is a horrible team player when Kennie enquired on the onion slicing. Nidhi's a sketchy captain &, for once, I'll agree with Prachi that Nidhi's basically a careless captain. Harry needs to catch up with the team & focusing so much attention on warming the salad.

Only Aashiq, Prachi, Suraj, and Kennie stood out from the challenge. Overall, Rukhsar's team was better coordinated.

This team challenge ain't all that challenging. They have this every year and every year the precap is the same. The team that looks like a train wreck ends up winning.

Waise bhi last week they already revealed which team is going to win. Should I spoil it for everyone? Check the precap and when Chef Tejasvi Chandela gives her challenge. You'll see 5 contestants standing in front of her. That team is the losing team. Obviously one of them will get safe and the others will go to elimination. And the team that wins has 2 weak people (in my opinion) who will continue to next week.

@bold - I was shocked too. What was the connection with identifying ingredients and the challenge? Suraj got 5 minutes extra but apart from that nothing. I would have liked if they had told you get pantry staples & the ingredients you guessed correctly. Now make an innovative dish. This way they are challenged.

Nidhi choosing the known mystery box makes me wonder if it was scripted again. Pretty simple ingredients and all known ingredients. The other one contained a lot of exotic ingredients like Quail(not common in India. I may be wrong because I don’t eat meat), blue cheese, polenta etc. They are anyway going to bump her till finals. Fair chances of becoming a runner up too. Anyway choosing the safe mystery box and making a kofta in some sauce and then a laccha parata with mint. Why did she need her extra five minutes? It looked like Ranveer came and reminded her of that extra five minutes she had received earlier from Marco’s challenge. This is the second time she is making kofta.

Nambi’s idea was good but poor execution. Ice cream was frozen rock solid, grapefruit segments were too spicy. She could have done something more with grapefruit. May be a grapefruit & chilli sorbet or a sauce or jam? Her dish looked all the over the place which was pointed out.

Ruksar has become like Suvarna from last season. Suvarna was chided at one point of time where as all I see is praises for Ruksar. Vikas telling her that restaurants could use her technique to cook quail was a bit ott. Polenta is a different form of semolina. So yes she has used it to make s crisp rather than a roti which they make. It didn’t require so much praise.

Kriti’s dish could have been better. She could have tried a sheet cake. Adding 4 eggs for moistness looked like an after thought. Why she wanted to make a tart is beyond my understanding. Chilling a pastry dough before cooking is basic. Why are they being advertised as tip of the day. Kuch bhi. Dish looked decent but could have been better.

Harry’s kebab idea was also so meh. Again lecturing that lobia adds protein to the kebab bla bla ott. Not a new concept. U have kala channa kebab. This was a direct swap with sweet potato and lobia. He executed it well. I liked his clean plating.

Not enough was shown from Md.Ashiq, Kenny.

Overall the biased views were evident. No one cooked exotic food. Everyone nailed the quail. Surprised by that. Episode was teek tak. Nothing to go gaga over it.

I dont think Nidhi's dish was best but what can I say, Sony Liv are again being biased

Was suprised that everyone was able to cook quail perfectly

Rukshar and Nidhi gonna be top 4 for sure
