I was sad to see Khoku go not because she was better than some others but because she deserved to be there as much as most others left behind.

But what was more unsettling is the unhealthy taunting and glee some forum members here express at her elimination. Real Poor taste!!

What was her crime ? That she was a villager and hence didn't know about 'phoren' food like the forum fav Ripu or the fact that she was uneducated and did not know how to read .All of us in front of these computers know how to read and write because we were born into families where we had the opportunity to learn these skills - skills we take for granted.
I am sure she did not start out her life with plans to end up being someone's maid at 22.
Does this mean only the educated, rich/middle class with complete exposure to world cuisine has the right to participate and win ? What about the poor majority ? I suppose they can't dream or have any aspirations. The girl should have known her place in society.😡

She hasn't had many opportunities to better herself and might have seen this as a chance, hence she seemed to have a meltdown on national tv.

In hindsight, I think I am glad she's out and has left those nautanki salas including the chefs to manipulate the game as they see fit.

They should just declare Ripu the winner and end this farce, I don't dislike him but I hate the fact that they are trying to force him down my neck at every single opportunity. Today his food looked no better than many others but they still found something to big him up and proclaim him the best.

Devyani's was uncooked , a real no-no in elimination rounds but still she was safe. Navneet's looked bad. A lot of the food on the table looked mediocre today but then how much can you do with gooseberries and dal.

I agree with lizman, some of the comments made were in terrible taste.

It's one thing accepting that this is a competition but it'd completely out of order to say that she had no place in the competition because she is illiterate- shame on the people that said that.

I agree the Ripu has a fresh, modern way of cooking but don't forget, there are millions of women like Khoku and very few like Ripu- I thought the aim of the show was to connect with the audience and whether people like it or not, there are a lot of people who are in Khoku's situation.

The thing that makes this show so good is that there are people in it from all walks of life so deal with it and if you don't like it- switch off!

Exactly .
Ripu knows all this coz he has exposure to stuff that Koku isn't even aware of, furthermore didn't someone say in one of the other threads that he has some hotel management degree. TBF He looked really upset when Khoku left and I think she and he worked well as a team when they were together.
I watch lots of UK shows including masterchef UK, this is the first time I am properly watching the indian version. I have had enough of it what with all the serial bahus traipsing around, really poor edited down episodes and all the manipulations and dramabaazi.

They say Ignorance Is Bliss and its evident in some of the posts here. I dont care if someone prefers XYZ over Khoku. But to say, she deserved to leave because she is illiterate who doesnt have exposure and by default is overrated is unfair and downright mean. She cant help that she didnt have the chances to learn and become literate like many others here. I am happy that she got a chance to truly show the world, it doesnt matter where you come from, what matters the talent you bring and how you shine despite the circumstances.
Knowing Khoku's story, I know, I have had priviledges she coudnt even dreamed about and that really makes me thankful for all I have been given in my life. <3
It matters that she is talented and can walk head-to-head with these so called literate people. Its amazing. I hope many girls in India can learn from her and fight the world to bring show case their talent. The rest of them can suck it.

Everyone in MI is talented,no doubt. Is Ripu any more talented than the rest of them? Nope.

Agree with topic maker!!!

She was a gifted cook, whereas others had to work to get to where they are.. I'm really disappointed as there are people who are not as strong as Koku. I'm really hoping they do a wild-card episode and bring her back. She truly deserves to win.

I read the post. I was disgusted even to reply on that post. Better to bang my head on the wall then try to reason with the person. Couldn't believe one can live in such high level of ignorance. May be Khoku was not the best cook but questioning about her living and illiteracy shows how the person is illiterate regarding the reality of life.

I was surprised by this post & then noticed the other post 😕 This is cookery show & ppl s'd concentrate on the cooking skills of the contestants. Some how this season looks v dull, boring, scripted & the contestants dont seem strong. Am no longer watching it religiously like Season 2!
