But if we think from his POV.. As a ruler he can't give clean chit to anyone without evidences. If he had showed soft corner towards Shambhu in the court, he would have looked as biased. People would have started doubting him. It was necessary to send a strong message that no culprit would be spared in Swarajya. And in his opinion it was necessary to be stricter towards Sambhaji, because that would make him stronger, as a future king.

Shivaji Raje's internal conflict was brilliantly portrayed by Shantanu. He is awesome! His and Amol's scenes were treat to watch.
