I know both Marathi and Hindi culture

Mandali, I am from paschim Maharashtra and Dokyavar padar hi aapli pan sanskruti hoti. The current middle class and urban areas have come far away from this tradition but if you look at rural or traditional Maratha households we still see this practice today. In fact khup sarya Maratha families madhe loke swatala "aamhi" mhanoon sambodhatat. Agadi chotya balala pan aho jao kartat.
I am not supporting these practices but just wanted to comment that for some communities (even Marathi speaking) these practices are so ingrained that a change is unthinkable for traditionalists (like Amma)
I am of the opinion that traditions keep our culture unique and alive as long as they don't become handcuffs and roadblocks in progress. But few can identify this fine line of separation and that's where the current scenario in KDP raises its ugly head.
