There's an excellent Kabir Bhajan 'ghaT ghaT mein panchhI bolatA' that has a line 'Ap hI danDI Ap tarAzU Ap hI baiThA tolatA' (you are the judge, you are the weighing balance and you are also the one doing the weighing') that applies here. A good analogy would be N Srinivasan heading BCCI, (re)writing the rules of IPL to favour himself and his team and to allow conflict of interest.

So now it's clear who to blame if things go wrong with a serial - it's the channel that ultimately decides what goes and what doesn't. The promo of TP2 in D3 was so in-your-face that it's very clear who the boss is.

It is precisely to protest the dominance of a particular channel that I watch serials like Durva, Jayostute & Lakshya. I wish they came up with more good stuff and that they also started marketing movies - better movies than the likes of TP, TP2, Duniyadaari & Classmates.

I should have written 'I prefer to watch ...' rather than 'I watch ...'. I don't watch any of them (incl D3) on a regular basis. But when I do, I prefer to watch these and 'Asmita' rather than HSMHG, JYRG etc.
I usually watch less than 30 mins of TV serials when I do, so they tend to be bits and pieces of several serials.
Haven't watched a Hindi serial in decades.
I suspect we are going to see a steady procession of guest actors on D3 since we can only take so much of their 'timepass' activities once the characters and their backgrounds are established. That's why even HSMHG & JYRG added characters of Laxmikant, ViChitra etc.

I think SK thought or was led to believe that he could get away with murder because his team could manipulate the evidence. If SK is indeed so charitable and all that, why didn't he
approach the victims and offer to pay for their medical costs and offer to take care of the family of the man he killed? That would have gotten him all sympathy and he may not even had to face lawsuit. That would have been 'Being Human', not asking your driver to take the fall for you!
It was the unchanging testimony of his police bodyguard Ravindra Patil that nailed SK after everyone turned hostile under tremendous pressure from very powerful people. Then then Home Minister of Maharashtra was rumoured to have 'settled' the matter and charged SK with a much less serious crime. Poor Ravindra Patil died in a Municipal Hospital 8 years ago, alone and penniless. Who should be held responsible for his death?

The sycophancy exhibited by Bollywood in this matter (and also Sanjay Dutt's) and also the total lack of concern for the real victims makes me sick.

I fully agree with you SW but India doesn't have 'Blood Money' system. Hence, can we say even if he had approached the victims and offered to pay handsome amount then he wouldn't have faced lawsuit?
I guess,if it were there he had happily agreed to compensate instead of going to jail for 5 years.

The victim's family was saying Y'day that what they'll get from Salman's imprisonment?

Puru Rajkumar (rajkumar's son) also involved in rash driving incident few years back and killed 7 people sleeping on pavement the day he arrived in india. But a close friend sunil dutt who was MP then helped him out and matter was settled via compensation and case didn't appear in court.
