ZM awards are purely promo activities. Like Filmfare awards, the most popular serial wins just about everything and not necessarily the best candidates in each category.

There's a giant ad featuring a very pretty PM that says something like 'MoThA utsav, moThI bakshise' or something like that on the road from Hinjewadi chowk to Hinjewadi flyover (in Pune). I don't recall if that's an ad for a jewelry company or an ad for ZM Awards show - a portent of things to come.

The ZM awards go on for about 4.5 hrs featuring much dancing, lame comedy & predictable winners. I usually give them a pass.
