* HSMHG is trying desperately to regain lost ground but that is proving difficult. Most of our regulars
incl myself, Neela, Ruchi, Poojashree, Vidya, Veena & Mishkil (apologies to those I missed!) have
stopped watching regularly/ altogether and have certainly stopped caring. As far as serials are
concerned, indifference is far worse than hating since it shows people have stopped caring.
* The CVs have been repeating the mistake of blowing up small issues out of all proportions and
shoving big issues under the carpet when they want to 'solve' an impossible situation. We could
not understand why S left home in the first place and why he returned when things had actually
got much worse. Or how serial liar J is treated with kid gloves by everyone while Sharayu gets punished for her indiscretions.
@Poojashree: How did you come up with 40-45 as Saru's age? Isn't she picked off the streets
as an orphan (or maybe from an orphanage) and is not a blood relative of the G-gang?
So no reason for her to be 40-45. Would a girl of 40-45 dream of getting married
when she doesn't even get out of her home (and probably hasn't seen a computer in her life)?
I think she is closer to Pintya's age and since the CV's want to 'keep everything in the family'
(like Manish & Geeta getting together), I was making a suggestion for the CVs :-)
Also, my problem is not with you not liking my comments - I only wanted to understand what
was so 'cheap' about Pintya & Saru (whom I consider to be very close in age) falling in love.
I rarely watch a few mins of MMTJ (Majhe Mann Tujhe Jhale) since the lead pair is so D U L L.
The story has been mostly stuck in neutral for a long long time.
@Neela: I agree completely with your comments on the deterioration of HSMHG. I suppose SK
felt that campaigning for the 'wrong' party will erode his popularity and decided to issue a
disclaimer on his FB page. Prajakta Mali looks perhaps 10% less dull than she does in JYRG!
@Veena: There's a saying 'Pune tithe kAy uNe?', which is a rhetorical question 'What does Pune
lack?' (Nothing!). After the suspicious disappearance of approx 1L voters from the voters'
list (and alleged insertion of 1L voters from Sangli - the home city of Pune's INC candidate),
we can say 'Pune tithe 1 lAkh matadAr uNe!' The Collector, who is in charge of maintaining the
voters' lists is the B-i-L (or some other close relative) of the INC candidate, so the people of
Pune have demanded a re-poll, at least for the missing voters.
BTW, watch 'Yellow' if you get a chance. Nice, well-made movie although like Lagaan, it tends
to focus on just one event in the second half of the movie. Mrunal K looks ageless as ever and
along with Hrishikesh Joshi, carry the film nicely. The 'special' child acting as herself gives
much-needed authenticity to the story. It was nice to see the theater full of parents & kids.
The CV's of HSMHG should realize that their stock device of trying to establish a character's
goodness or badness through 3rd party narration of past events in that person's life is not
working. They tried it for Hitler-AjI, Lax, Sharayu but the viewers don't seem to have bought
any of it!
