The title of this article says everything on the outrage and ridiculousness of this suggestion by the judge .

I have read this happens quite often in middle eastern countries and even our neighboring country shows . But for India, I wouldn't expect this and am glad the judge was asked to resign.

Exactly. In one of the articles I read, this was done because in India we have this orthodox notion that a woman has been spoiled (am getting squirmy goosebumps)..and marriage is a kind of sanctity or protection. There are movies too made on this theme.

She said they are not approving but they are showing what actually does happen.

So I feel Mukta is bringing in too many elements of rape...which is dragging the episodes. She is showing the depressing options for a rape victim, I think. And how is she going to get out this cycle. I think they will address what you wrote, they have been giving some good dialogues through Vikrant and Mannat. let' see.

Even in the other show...the hero of Lost, the rape victim got into a consensual / forced relationship with her perp to save her niece's marriage.

Why should Puneet marry a person because his father was a criminal?

Why should Puneets life be played around with?

Moreover isn't it suggesting that a woman's honour is tied to her body??? And the man has no blame???

Unless Mukta addresses this ... there is no point in putting it out.

Marrying the rapist is a worst punishment for the victim, and here Mukta is suggesting this is ok since it's "real" to suggest marrying the victim to the rapist's son which may be even more traumatic 🙄

I have always thought Mukta was a sensible woman producer , but her comments and justification are coming across quite pompous.

No I dont think she is saying that. She said na courts are suggesting that. We are not

Marrying rapist's son where Mukta mentioned this is real. I couldn't find an article which suggests this

One search and google threw up so many cases where the accused is let off because he agrees to marry the victim.

Logic I am guessing is the victim is taken care of, and can live with 'respect'

This is just tragic and even more reason why countless women never report such sexual violence cases 😡😭😡😖

I think to bring this notion in now is really extending the track and opening up a whole different realm of sexual violence which wasn’t necessary to the initial story. It’s been the longest topic/track so far and has been very uncomfortable viewing. And am sure that the main instigator of prolonging justice, ARS, will get off scot free! Even if the perpetrator is served justice those who shielded him have much to be held accountable for too..

I get that... issue is marrying the perpetrators to save face/honor/sanctity...

Whether it's him or his son doesn't matter. Mukta had to get Puneet as Raveena is alive.

I think the whole idea is that the girl gets respectability with marriage.

In this case, the rapist's son...as she had said to the media. But noone in the media knows the rapist is Bobby. Or tomorrow that clip with Mannat and HArneet will say someone from the Saluja family ? But not indicate who??
