This Desi Shows makes me sad when I see lil children crying. I mean how can one even act when a Child is showing some sort of discomfort and is crying. My heart would break. The real life parents of this child, I wonder how they can handle seeing their lil one sobbing on the show.
Any thoughts on this?

I know I feel really bad too. It's weird that they make the children cry and stuff for the show. But I don't know if I would call it 'child abuse' necessarily. However, it is sad.. 😔

I Knoww right.. BUT if we look at the other side of the coin.. These actors work on tight schedules.. Production runs on limited budgets at times.. I guess most of the days you can't have retakes after retakes just because the kid is restless or crying or annoyed with the environment which btw can be really crowdy, noisy, or it gets too hot for him or he can't see his mom around and grows anxious (separation anxiety). Age matters too- he's too young and toddlers CAN get moody and grouchy!! I will DEFINITELY not label it as 'child abuse'. I think they do try not to include Maanav in each and every scene- like in today's episode at the airport when Shikha walks in with Neeraj, she was carrying a doll ;) So yeah, he does gets his breaks but there are scenes where he's required to play the role and he doesn't enjoy it, I guess 😆 Kudos to these superb actors who are able to say their lines and act with a crying kid in their arms 👏 Hopefully they'll get a slightly older kid (who'll not cry as much) to play Maanav after Shikha returns as Samairaa!! 👍🏼

They have not chosen a right age for Manav. Two year toddler is unmanageable and cannot be faked with a doll. He should have been shown to be a year or even 9 months old . Then they could use a doll most of the time
Also Aishwariya could not bond well with this child. I know it is difficult to bond with a 2-year old but with a greater bonding mother-child relationship could have been more properly shown

indian shows keep going on like this. parents earn so don't care what the child is going through. this kid is small that he won't even 'say' but I remember watching the BTS of a show last year, where the director was yelling at the child artist so bad 😡
it was the male lead of the show who interfered and explained to the child with love how the scene was supposed to be done. no one else on the set even flinched.

it is indeed abuse. we have peta to raise a voice when animals are harmed just so that people get entertainment but what about children who have no say and have in many cases, greedy parents? 🤔

I agree with you TM

I see children as well as animals not treated properly in TV shows, in movies due to protest and all they have changed those things.

I can't see any child crying period. In the grocery store too if I hear any child crying and mother not paying attention ( that really happens) I can't shop, I get so much upset that I just leave the place.

I don't really know the details of Indian shows. But aren't their practices a lot better now? Can we really judge how each show treats the children off-screen?

I totally agree that using young children is unethical in the sense that they are not able to make their own decisions. Also, I'm sure most parents do it because they need the money, and not to save it for the children. However, I think it is too extreme to call it child abuse, don't you think? Maybe neglect or exploitation might be a better term. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong. Since neglect and exploitation are a form of abuse..

you know, I don't want to name that show I was talking about earlier. But it was a prime time show on a very big channel. the SBS team just meant to show a particular scene being filmed, but we all witnessed how badly the director shouted at the kid. the child looked so terrified and it was horrible to see that his guardians didn't step in.
if the lead actor hadn't interfered the shouting would have carried on.

the look on the child's face was enough to call it abuse. abuse of money, power and position. I'm not saying the director can't tell the cast to behave but expecting a small child to carry out a scene in the first take and then shouting so loudly on him that even the senior actors felt it was totally uncalled for. but the parents won't interfere bcoz we all know money talks.

i say, animals are in a better position in this regard. good societies take care no one abuses them. I know making a daily show is tedious but then your behavior with your team sets apart good directors/team from the bad one.

maybe to each his/her own. I'd never allow anyone to shout at my kid unnecessarily while I'm making money out of it.
we obviously can't say all are the same but adult actors leave shows bcoz it is so tiring, I don't think many parents really give 2 hoots on whether their kid is complaining. their should be rules and someone should make sure, the child artists are treated with more respect and care.

I understand what you are saying about the other show. I was not arguing with you about that. I agree that it was abusive. I was simply reffering to Main Na Bhoolungi and other ones where we do not know how the children are treated otherwise, when I said that it's unfair to assume and call it child abuse.

Of course there should be measures taken to respect the children's wishes, and treat them with care. Never disagreed with that. 😊

we can never be sure, that's true and yes I am all against assuming the child is not being treated properly.
but every time, in any show, if a kid is left to cry so that the scene 'touches' us, I feel sick. grown ups can cry and stop on cue but I can't imagine how they make a baby cry when required.

hopefully after this so-called makeover, manav is big enough that we won't be worrying on this 😊
