@Arshics one thing I agree to you is Nagas are completely prepared. The way they planned the attack itself shows that.
Garuds have power but then they don't know their purpose except Shiva and Tiwari. Rudra does not get the premonition of the massacre is because he is not connected to his real purpose. He is connected to Maya at this point and all his focus is on keeping her alive. Nothing else gets his attention.
Again I agree to you Mritunjaya homa was done for Maya and that is specifically the reason we see bloodbath in the tents, while the homa is happening in the banks of river. That homa has to be completed at any cost. Because Maya is needed.
Now my take on Garuds removed from the battle scene yes it is Niyati. Understand that whenever there is a battle of good vs evil, niyati is what protects good till the good realizes their true purpose. You can call it higher power who plays the master strategist because good is needed for establishing dharma and it needs to be protected.
It was a good epi but I wanted the villain to be more menancing. He doesn't have those sharp penetrating looks. To match GR in performace I guess Rahil will have to step up a bit.

Arshi your post is fantastic. You've highlighted everything positive and diminished every negative about last night's episode! 👏
Very chastening for people like me who forgot all the positives in their disappointment with the execution. Thank you for bringing some Enlightenment into our gloom&doom...😳

Before I start to list out my cribs, have to say that all disappointment is entirely on account of Team MK raising our expectations far above the normal. Blame it on AB... and UN!

Even with an actor like GR, there's only so much time you can show him holding hands with, and gazing into eyes of, his lady love, albeit on her deathbed...*face palm*

You can send Logic maiyya on short leave but if she's permanently absent viewers will ultimately feel let down...
A couple of weeks ago, I'd compiled a crime sheet/body count of the show which established Allahabad had zero law enforcement... But only two episodes ago, the DM assured Siva that security was on high-alert and yet the Bad Guys in Black had a field day mowing down so many! *face palm*

Much earlier there was discussion on this forum about how the Nagas would be depicted onscreen. In that promo where we first saw a glimpse of their prowess, they appeared more like people who you may see at the kumbhmela. I wonder why their appearance & strategies last night were so different from the promo? I found the whole piece quite clumsy, amateurish and totally out of place in this show. They may have been OK for an ISIS hit squad who kill & destroy mindlessly but that is not what we expected the Nagas to be. BIG thumbs down.😒

Arshi,

Ab maine jaana ki nazar aur nazar mein kitna antar ho sakta hai,

Your post is far more dramatic and compelling than the chaotic, ugly and terminally frustrating goings on onscreen. I am glad you enjoyed it, for I did not. And today we will have Daadi murdered with ghoulish glee in a bloody close up.

Rudra presumably needed this colossal kick in his rear end to shake him out of his lovesick daze - all that finger waving would have been funny if it was not so irritating - and get him going. And of course Shivanand, thanks to his inexcusable lethargy, is back where he was, imprisoned, except that now he will be a hostage as well.

I never thought that such a very bright young man like Utkarsh would fall prey to the hoariest cliche of them all, The Coma!

Reg. Rudra, I felt as if he let the family down, which he will realise soon. He became so lost in Maya that the world around him ceased to exist. Pyar mein aisa hota hoga but I was disappointed. The makers have made it to show that Maya is the real ardhaangini and she will only stay till the end. The rest became jhooti Maya and she is made the only sacchai.

Agree with you, even I felt he had let down his family. A person cannot be so lost that he loses all sense of reason and responsibility. Being a practical person its hard for me to digest such love sickness.

Rahil as naga leader was impressive - it will go to see him pitted against gAuti as Rudra - another great choice by AB!

Do you think any policemen will be effective against nagas ? This is bordering on supernatural domain, so obviously will be fought in the supernatural realm!

But yes, it seems very unreal that no one even worries about so many dead bodies and gruesome murders that have been happening with such regularity. That I think is one flaw that has been in the show since the begining, the complete absence of any concern or action from law enforcement agencies - logic Maiyya in yoganidra!

In bold - So right!

What bothers me the most is that Shiva, Tiwari and Prof. all know about the danger lurking and still no action is taken to safe guard the family. I guess these brutal murders have happened to show Rudra that his destiny is in saving the amrit. He cannot run from it.

@kitsin that is exactly what Niyati is doing to Rudra. He has to feel the guilt, guilt of not being able to protect his family when he was there.
His mother, dadi, friend and uncle killed and his father taken hostage while he was simply doing candyfloss romance.
Tragedy has to sink in for him to take action atleast to liberate his father and then towards larger destiny.
Rudra lost in Maya is exactly the way the world moves. People are so much lost in illusion that they does not take action till it hits them directly. We are so silent towards other's pain, we doesn't seem it necessary to raise voice for a deprived soul till we ourselves become deprived.
Garuda is just a metaphor. Every human being has come to this earth with a purpose but most people lose out not able to see the higher purpose. Not able to move beyond their immediate families. We give so much importance to blood relations that we forget to appreciate the need base relations or as dadi says Karm ka bandhan which is over and above Prem ka bandhan which normally happens with blood relations.
Now coming to Shiva I have already told his focus is Amrit not people. From day one with all the knowledge he has he had left the protection of himself and the Garuds to Niyati and has not taken any concrete steps to protect himself and the rest of the Garud clan. This over emphasis on Amrit over people is what has landed him in this trouble.

Prayag reminds me of Gotham city sans a vigilante like Batman. Instead we have a love sick, cry baby Rakshak who can give a TV bahu a run for her money😆 When Rudra displayed a serene calmness, almost Zen-like after knowing about Maya's impending doom, I believed he had a solution to counter the effects of the poison injected into her system. But now it looks like he was in complete denial or in Mahakumbh parlance, clouded in Mayajaal😒 Shrutiravi argues elsewhere, it's his latent potential as a leader coming through when he decided to stay calm and collected to deal with a murky situation. I felt otherwise. He is still in denial, he is still in his dreamland. The conversation with a vegetative Maya was anything but touching. I couldn't feel for him or her. I was like, get over it already dude!

In toto with how disorganized the Garud crew is! The Nagas are ruthless, they don't follow a moral code in the sense that they will go to any extent to procure the Amrit. Are they operating independently or are they someone else's henchmen? They must be backed by someone who can furnish them with all the latest combat rifles and gizmos? I am very, very curious to know how this war will be fought especially when the Nags have technically advanced weaponry, well equipped, ranking higher in the power hierarchy. Shivanand too is quite the geek, having assembled a garud locator as early as in the late 80s. Is Katherine still operating as a mole or has she joined the garuds gang for good per the promo? Why a single Greek origin Garud amongst Indian origin Garuds? There should be a proper reason to that too!

Something I'd written yesterday about the episode and the Gotham city-esque Allahabad where crimes go unnoticed.

Cliche #1: Maya showing signs of life whenever Rudra made contact with her. Boooaaaring, yaaawn inducing. Even the performances looked dull and artificial.

Cliche #2: Rudra trying to convince Thappadiya Mai that Maya could listen to him in her vegetative (?) state. Oh man, how many times have we seen such a moronic scene in movies? Give it a break already! Quit rambling and take her to the infirmary buddy!

Cliche #2 : The entry of Nagas in a mortuary vehicle, their black-box gizmos, hi-tech weaponry, the black hood, the walking style, basically every thing about the entry looked, ehm, rather pretentious. But hey, Rahil did make an impression, as expected!

Pre-cap: It was chilling to see Dadi getting stabbed to death out in the open by Dansh. Really going to miss Surekha ji's screen presence on the show. The show isn't set in a lawless alternate universe like the Game of thrones, and hence this kind of savagery looks illogical and unconvincing.

@veritaserum when I talked about Rudra's leadership ability in Shymaladi's post what I meant is he has it in him to take charge of a situation. But which situation is the biggest question. He has faith, he has intuition but only problem is everything is directed towards Maya. His skills are not getting used where it should be.
His intuitiveness should have alerted him of Nagas. His crisis management should have been to put his near and dear ones to safety with Punnu and take guard along with Charles and Tiwari. Both would have supported him if he had asked.
But all his leadership abilities he used to manage Maya the illusion and as you rightly said it was boring, tiring and I my blood boiled when he was sitting and talking to Maya who is in vegetative state and asking others to talk to her. 😡😡. That is what we call waste of talent.
Hope the brutal murders make him realize his true destiny and he stops whining like a baby in front of Maya.
I had enough of Maya kadan.

@ shrutiravi and veritaserum: There seem to be very many blanks to be filled. Be it Shiva's technology. The total lack of security for the garuds and esp. the BNP members after Maya's poisoning. If he is a total geek cannot the Prof. or Tiwari raise the issue. All seems incomplete. They knew suspected that the nagas have arrived and yet...Hope the makers address some of the issues at least.

Rudra - Maya love story was never convincing. From a grieving and revengeful soul for his maimui's murder, he went to suddenly become this bland person who is happy with his daadi's edicts. He had stopped asking relevant questions. Then his sudden realization of deep (blind?) love for Maya.
He never wanted to know what his father was talking about being a rakshak. He only wanted to live in his bubble, forgetting that he himself had started the revenge process by killing Animesh. The free fall of Rudra in Maya's lovejaal has made him blind to his other qualities of observation and understanding the ground reality. Failing this he cant become a leader though having the potential from the very start.

When a person is expected to learn hard lessons in life he/ she just has to. Otherwise niyati does it for you in its own way that would be equivalent to a harsh slap as a wake up call. Rudra too is being given that in such a brutal manner I guess.

Where Shivanand went wrong is getting sidelined by Maya's poisoning. He should have become alert when he realized that Nagas must have arrived at the MK.

The Nagas could have just kidnapped Shivanand, why kill everyone to get to him. Maybe they think this will make Shivanand and Rudra give up the mission. Ulta they will rouse all the sleeping tigers now.

Appukrish

Don't know what to make of today's episode. If the nagas are after shivanand's book, then surely even greyson is in danger too since he has the other part. I'm wondering when Katherine will stab her fellow Garuds in the back, she's very attentive, will she melt and soften before knowing her real purpose.

Nagas are more dangerous than nanu and bailvesh and greyson put together, don't think they realise what they are actually getting into, they are out of their depth.

angelic8219

Sorry if am offending any one, but I found the head of Nagas -- his entry (muh dikhayi) funny. I mean he looked funny.

Itna sanjog?the garudas escaped or were removed from the battle field so easily. Mai,charles and Katherine sent to Rudra. Tiwari excuses himself right away and Shivanand is sent for yagya. And the meek and so-called 'dispensables' are left behind. Dadi was marshaling her troops but it looked so unnatural.

Hmm, what an engaging discussion and diverse set of views from all, bahut-e-mazaa aaya

this is the reason why the forum is so addictive - so many different ways of looking at the same show

Nazar aur nazariye ka faraq!!!

so i have listed here my favourite comments from each post, I dont agree with all of them, but i loved reading each one of them.

In terms of agreement , i am more aligned with Shruthi - its all symbolic - all a maya - just like any other mythological story.

Rudra - a young man with all the power of the world, but too absorbed in grihasthi - and the ordinary, resists all attamepts to rise above it

Shiva - too detached with people and too steeped in theory and research- doesnt rise upto the urgency of the situation - all gyan no application

DM - a bureaucrat - sab pata hai, kuch karta nahi- sits on info and subversive and waits for orders

Charles - rebel without a cause

Kat - under the influence of burai

Thapadiya mai - not in touch with reality, cant handle harshness so gone off the rocker

Maya - literally a Maya - all are engrossed in preserving her and busy with inconsequential - talk to her, notice every tremor and shake, do pooja path to preserve her, feed the others to feel as if we are in action

All are rats on wheels, a lot of action, but no movement

so, niyati will not wait for you to take your time, it will take charge, if you dont

as for nagas and their look and costume - Rahil is hot!!! so logic can go in a coma with Maya
