Sandhya my pet,
How marvellous to have you fully on board here, your tongue even more firmly tucked into your cheek than mine - the bit about the reason for the doctor's discretion is priceless!😉- in full flow! I have missed you by my side, and it feels very good to have you back. 🤗
You mischievous wretch, what awful scenarios you bring up
@blue! I am getting a stitch in my side from laughing!
Poor Utkarsh would have a fit if he saw your post!😉 No, seriously, I do not see any such terminally cliched climactic denouement, but I am a tad concerned that he should wrap it all up very neatly by Episode 120. The beginning and the end are both crucial, for a book, a film or an essay, and here the beginning has been excellent and the story is coming along briskly, with such lovely gems of scenes jumping out at us, without warning, to delight us. All that remains is to make sure of a perfect ending.
I am somehow not sure whether Maya will ever be an obsession for Rudra, just a distraction, as you have noted and, after he marries her, a responsibility and a leg shackle when he is rushing into action. In short, a pattern card Hindi film heroine. But I am sure that for Rudra, as for his father, the mission will come first, always and every time.
I would have thought that for the family who are the keepers of the
Saraswati Kund, the safety of the
amrit would come before all else. Thus, for Daadi to blame Shivanand for putting the safety of the
amrit above his personal attachments would be odd. Then again, how does she know what has happened to Shivanand, and how long and how hard he has been resisting his captors? She has no
doorandeshi nazar, for she does not know what has happened to Rudra in these 23 years. So, let us see what she really means.
Yes, I too liked the Mamuyi-Rudra scene better than the Harry-Dumbledore one at King's Cross, now that you have brought it up, for the same reason that you have described so sweetly about our
paavam Amul baby. As for the Wicked 'Veshes, yes, Voldemort would have used them both to the fullest, including against each other, and then had Nagini bite them. But that would have been far too easy a death for them. Here, I am waiting to see what happens if Balivesh wants to sideline his father in the race for the
amrit. To revert to Potterland, one thing is for sure, neither 'Vesh would have had the kind of fanatic loyalty to Voldemort that Bellatrix had. Incidentally, there is a beautiful blue star called Bellatrix near the Orion constellation, and my HPite astronomer brother showed it to me on his last visit to Pune.
I agree with you completely about our ancient storehouse of wisdom, and the reasons for many of our traditional practices, which we have neglected for too long in our mad rush to adopt all things western. Our rishis of old had ways of slowing down the whole body metabolism and all the vital functions, like a hibernating bear, till the body needed next to no nutrition for years. And in our traditional medicine, there are non-habit forming and non-toxic treatments that work far better even if the cure takes longer. I use Tibetan medicine a lot, and ayurveda as well.

Maya as the name suggests must be Rudra's distraction. Rudra has always sought motherly love and unalloyed affection. If he finds Maya offer him that and more, then he might want to protect her more than he wanted to protect Maimui. This may be used by the villains to their advantage to distract him from his mission.
Just hope that we don't have a climax where Maya is tied by ropes in a hut on a hilltop screaming 'Bachao' and Rudra rushing to save her with the pot of Amrit in exchange shouting 'Daro mat Maya, main aa raha hoon' and Balivesh and Grieson laughing like Mogambo in response to Rudr's 'Kutte kamine..'. Going by the Charles-Katherine scene, such a climax is not totally impossible. 😲
We have discussed the Maimui-Rudr scene in your last thread aunty. And as you said, the backdrop is ethereal inspite of its simplicity. The sands of the Triveni Sangam add to the mystique of the meeting of two people, one from this world and one from the other. I found the scene more effective than the Harry-Dumbledore meeting at Kings Cross Station. While Harry sought explanations, Rudra only seeks solace in his only known little heaven in his life - the pallu of his maimui that offers him more reassurance than all of the Amrit of the Mahakumbh would offer our villains.
Balivesh and Naanu ka kya kahein - Voldemort would have loved them as his aides. They can put Bellatrix to shame in ruthlessness. Yet they are honourable men in the eyes of the world and religious too that makes them more hate-worthy.😡
I rewatched the exchange between daadi and the doctor. The doctor probably didn't go to the press as if the news leaked people would rush to learn yoga to control their senses and bodies and he would lose all his patients, practice and income. The poor chap must have got so scared.😉
But yes. Such yogas and mantras do exist. Our religion and tradition is infact a supreme form of science. There are many verses in 'Thirumanthiram' that can cure us of many conditions. There are scientific reasons behind so many rituals and practices that many these days brush aside. 😕- the use of turmeric, the huge rangolis we make during the early morning hours during 'Markazhi', the havans during poojas, the use of certain metals for certain rituals, the tulsi in the courtyard, the presence of mirrors in the entrance halls, so so so much more.
