Thanks a lot, as always, my dear Ela. You are invariably good for my morale!

As for Maya being a Rakshak, that is a very interesting thought. The jury seems to be out as yet as to whether she is on the side of darkness or of light. Do take a look at a point concerning this that I have made in my response on prepage to Kiran.

Now the Greek girl, with her fake scatter-brained attitude, is surely a Rakshak, which is why Prof. APG Rao wants to inspect her bag.

I would also like you to spare a moment for my 2 minitakes on episodes 17 & 18, of Monday and Tuesday last, on pages 4/5 above. They should interest youl

And yes, I agree with you that the level of overt violence in this 8 pm show is excessive, ugly and unacceptable. I have stressed this point in my post here, and have also tweeted Utkarsh about it. Let us see if he pays any heed to it!

First things first, you imp! I hope you have done your practicals to your satisfaction, and are now feeling blissfully free of care.

As for your Dark Maya, see a point I have made in my response to Kiran on the prepage. It will both interest and please you.And as for Kkrish 3, it was the Kangana Ranaut character you are referring to, right, not that of Priyanka Chopra?

I am happy that you liked this one,and it would be very dull, my pet,if you agreed with me all the time! And as for the Jodha obsession, now transferred to Maya, I am very familiar with it!

Or , black mail vi ho sakti hai, hai na ?? 🤔 Like in the first Wolverine movie , Silver fox was ??

But I read your post taking 15 minutes to reread it 2 times , n I watched all the episodes too. N yes, you're right I'm again having Jodha syndrome , gang ho over Maya , some thing about her enchants me. 🤣 You know me so well. 🤣
Especially that moment when after Rudra's very 1st encounter with Prapuu Yadav Rudra left fuming... n then Maya came n when Rudra left the spot, Maya said she'll talk to him n when she turns some thing in her face shifts n she looked pretty mysterious to me. 🤔
Your analysis is beautiful, but I agree with some parts n some parts I've to disagree. I'd have loved to discuss them at length with you but I'm knee deep in my pracs , last one will be on 15th n then I'm free, phew ! 🤢

Minnie dear, I am so happy to have you here with me after a long time!

As for your comments, including those about Maya, I agree in toto. This Maya is not going to be able to fill the shoes of the superb Maimuyi, far from it. I too am grateful for having been able to watch Seema Biswas conjure up magic on the small screen for as long as we were allowed to.

But I have some hopes of the redoubtable Surekha Sikri, Rudra's dadi, who has just entered the show. Maybe she will furnish him with the emotional fulcrum he has lost when he lost his Maimuyi.

And yes, I love all the fights in this show, which are very well done and entirely satisfying, both technically and emotionally in terms of overdue retribution!😉 What does that very interesting phrase- solah ka dola, chayalis ki chati - mean?

Somehow, I am never able to enjoy Maya. is it with the actress. Not sure. But she isn't able to sizzle the screen. But perhaps that is the plan? For Maya to not sizzle the screen.

How awesome was Seema? The affectionate smiles, the worry lines and her clutching a child-like but grown Rudra. I was thankful to the director for allowing me to watch her on small screen👏
Gautam Rode is always better in the more restrained scenes.
Aww.. Aunty I am as much a fan of dhishum dhishum as any true blue Bollywood masala movie fan.
And I enjoy the solah ka dola, chayalis ki chati look of Rudra

100% agree with you, esp about Maya! She doesn't fit in with the characteristics her name depict - that of someone mysteriously enchanting and someone irresistibly alluring, who entrances Rudra!
And the elders disappoint, both punnu and Charles. They do not have the punch their child actors had.

The swami and the bishop being hand in glove has a message - religious leaders all over the world are seeking self power, and use their positions to further their own ambitions, so their being hand in glove - not surprising!

Akka - Mandy is the biggest fan of Si**sat - On thursdays she goes really hyper. 😃

Oh Lord, my dearest Mandy, what a lukewarm take on the show! But thanks a ton for your generous words about this post.

Mandy, most shows do not have even a couple of average actors, and the very lucky ones, like our favourite till recently, have one superlative one and that is it. Two of the superb actors in Mahakumbh, Robin Das and, much more, Seema Biswas, have departed, which is bound to leave a huge void that this Maya cannot fill, far from it. That leaves the remaining Rakshaks, and Rudra's Dadi, the redoubtable Surekha Sikri, who is another powerhouse performer.

Since when have you started depending on feedback from others before deciding to watch this or any other show properly?

Plus there is no point in watching Mahakumbh in bits and pieces. You might as well drop it, for this way, you will invariably miss the scattered gems, like the deep and meaningful conversation between Shivanand and the Cardinal. Both are big men with big ideas, however twisted the Cardinal's might be, so they talk to each other as intellectual equals, whereas Grierson is just a flunkey.

Affectionately,

Shyamala

Religious leaders seek self power - Very Profound thought and observation - We need to live for some good years in this earth before we can conclude it for ourselves. I am also disliking Organized movements in religion much, these days.

My dear Sri,

This is all very well, but how can you allow yourself to miss out on the Maimuyi-Rudra scenes and pretend that my posts are an adequate replacement? They are no such thing.

Seema Biswas' Maimuyi is a treat for the mind and the heart alike, and you are depriving yourself of something amazingly beautiful and moving. Do go to the Star Plus website and watch the first 18 episodes that have been telecast til Tuesday last without fail, for after Episode 18, Maimuyi becomes a memory, no more. I lambasted Utkarsh Naithani, the writer, for this, whom I know very well, and he has carefully ducked answering to my irate message!

Oh, as I wrote to Shreya on my last thread, I like instant retribution, and not only to those harassing the heroine, but also to lowlife thugs oppressing anyone weak and helpless. But the fake gunda bashing you have referred to happens quite often in the movies, and at times, the beating up becomes too real and the gunda - in the case when he is hired for the job and is not an unfortunate friend!😉- demands extra payment!😉

I will see Akka , for you 😃

That is an intriguing parallel, but Nandi has now been abruptly and very unpleasantly cashiered, and the ambiguous Maya does not seem to be anyone's idea of Gauri. I am however waiting to see which way that cat on the wall jumps - devious deceiver or innocent deceived?

Anyone's idea of Gauri - What a wonderful word and idea play !!!

I gave the Nandi-Shiva-Gauri allegory as a counter to Shyamala's Yashoda-Krishna-Radha since the Maimui-Rudra equation felt more like the Nandi-Shiva equation to me - Sri Subramanian Bharathi has composed some poems on Krishna where he creates these beautiful imagery of Krishna as his servant, friend, lover etc - Nandi's relation with Shiva has always interested me - its not that of a lesser and not of an equal - at times it is that of authority and at times it is of beseeching - and that has been how the Maimui-Rudra equation to my eyes and so I gave this as a counter
