It's not the same Skanda story I've read in MBh (extremely different, in fact), but regardless, thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed the episode.

Having been treated to performances by highly accomplished dancers, I can't claim the dance was perfection, but they both did much better than expected.

Kaamdev/Bhandasur looked so darned cute Except for the neck thingie that seems to be a Swastik trademark, he acted well, too. There was even an angsty eye-lock with Rati☺️

I was caught by surprise by warrior Brahma. Also, the makers need to remember Saraswati, apart from being Goddess of Knowledge, was also Goddess of War. She should be slightly more assertive.

The best part for me was when Tarakasur commented on Mahakaali's bhashan!😆 I wonder if they shot the scene after we started commenting. It was a little befuddling to have a TV show maker not know the "show, don't tell" rule, but I'm hoping they're going to "show" the feminism from now on, instead of lecturing about it.

And I like the fact that there was no dithering when Parvati morphed to Mahakali. A woman might hesitate for a spouse, but a mother wouldn't.

The pace was good, too.

I'm settling into the show, hoping it goes on for a few months.

PS. Am I the only one, or did others hear "Pratishodh ki yeh agni hain" in the background a couple of times? Once when Lakshmi threw that fireball at Tarakasur, and once in a prior episode (Sati, I think).

I'm confident in definitively calling this the first objectively good episode. Everything worked well: the episode itself was seamless, the pace was comfortable, and surprisingly the VFX/CGI was not only minimal/static but palatable. I especially enjoyed Tarakasur's scuffle with the Gods; Brahmaloka looked marvelous, and how he deflected the attacks was really fun to watch. I definitely agree that they need to use Saraswati more. Lakshmi countered Tarakasur's derision, yet Saraswati simply echoed Lakshmi.
What really caught me off guard (in a very good way) was Brahma. Not only was he real, he actually fought. It was quite refreshing to witness a Brahma who did more than fulfill boons or cower behind Vishnu.

Kamadeva and Rati are my personal favourite secondary characters. They actually felt crucial to the story and were integrated perfectly. Their actors individually and collectively delivered amazing performances; Kamadeva and Bhandasura were two distinct characters, rather than two different characters with the same face. Most of all, I could empathize with Rati. I felt for her, unlike Prasuti or Daruka -- Rati's sorrow was tangible, not affected or transparent.

What I loved above all, however, was how the other characters contributed to the episode. Granted, Parvati and Shiva were still the primary focus, but the asuras truly felt like a massive threat. Similarly, the devas appeared as dedicated guardians, and I'm already really liking Indra's new actor.

Finally, we were provided with a great episode. Going foreward, hopefully future episodes maintain this standard.

I was expecting to see Agni and Swaha and the saptarishis😆. But this was good. Am guessing a different source has this story?

Liked the episode and agree with all above.
The actor essaying the part of Kamdev/Bhandasur👏 Actually, I have to say that it is after I saw him as Bhandasur that I appreciated his portrayal. Same with Rati -appreciate her more in the sorrowful, lost portrayal.

I missed some parts of the dialogue (lots of fire crackers due Ganesha immersions), so I am a bit confused why was Sati shown ...?

I loved the episode yesterday
Mahadev explaining Parvathi about the states was awesome
I loved both the Tandav and Lasya dances
And their their dhyan together
I felt bad when Lakshmi and Saraswati fell down
on one weapon throw from Tarakasur
Kaam Dev is really cute
Finally Rati realized her mistake to curse Parvathi
I loved the change of Parvathi to Maha Kaali for her son

Overall the episode was excellent. The execution was spot on even if they are taking creative liberties with the myths. All thanks to the talented forum members who share the truth with us.
But Bhandasur took the stage. His portrayal from the loving Kaamdev to the hated Bhandasur was amazing.

@HearMeRoar: With Agni in possession of that energy sphere, part of me hopes he relinquishes it to the Ganges/Ganga. It acknowledges the canon while potentially introducing conflict etween Parvati and Ganga. Maybe they can even find a way to work in the Kritikas.

@.Kore.: I truly hope they keep Bhandasura for at least another week. Pacing is important, but his performance is far too stunning and deserves more than a weekend. Kamadeva needs to return as well; he and Rati are two secondary characters, but they both deserve a happy ending worthy of a primary character.

edit --

@rsnarula67: I believe Sati was shown to demonstrate Shiva and Shakti's union is eternal and immortal. Sati is as much a component of Adi Shakti as Parvati is; thus, Shiva's union with Parvati is no different than his union with Sati.

Almost everything was good abt yesterday's episode; but the best part has to be the pace of the epi; neither it was fast paced unlike other episodes and neither it was drag fest
I enjoyed Brahmalok sequence but they could hv avoided the fall of both the Goddess it actually left a bad taste.
I agree Rati performance as a widower was better than the lovely dovey wife. Kaamdev is better off as Bhandasur. .
Now coming to the Lasya and Tandav it was beautifully done; going by the past records I thot it would only be 30 secs 😆
Anyways I thoroughly enjoyed it; SRJ did a decent job being a non dancer am sure he would improve with time.. now the best part has to be Pooja Sharma performance..
How graceful beautiful and divine she looked;
Her dance moves was so graceful ❤️ and her constant smiling throughout the Epi expressed her love and passion for her Beloved Mahadev..
So after all the complaining I could actually see love in her eyes for Mahadev or else the last few episodes only showed her confusion; crying and weak which didn't go down well as per her character.
Pooja's eyes are very expressive she expressed so many feelings without uttering anything.. ❤️
All in all very enjoyable epi

I was surprised seeing Brahma Dev standing or else mostly always he is sitting 😆
