The effect of Draupadi's words on Arjuna was described in a subtle manner that looks simple but powerful. Bharavi says Draupadi's words raked up the memory of past indignities and Arjun's anger rekindled.He shone very brightly just like the sun on reaching the northern direction.Udiratam taamiti yajna senya ...Tigmarasmih. Yajnaseni's words reminded Arjun the insult done yo hiswife and the way they were made to lose self respect and prosperity. His anger rekindled. He suppressed his anger but Draupadi's words rekindled it and motivated him to take revenge. With that anger he shone brightly like the sun in northern direction. Hence Draupadi became success ful in rekindling his anger and spirit of revenge. This inspiration of Draupadi worked wonders for Arjun as he did not look back on the path to victory.Surely She is the woman behind his extraordinary success story.

Kudos to Bharavi for depicting Ar Di love in such beautiful lines.

Glad I came across a marvellous piece of writing by Urmi Chandra Vaz 'Karma And Some, Trividha" . Really elated to read the same views shared by likeminded people. My reference is towards Draupadi's love for Arjuna and her displeasure when he brought Subhadra to Indra prasth. I would like to share the awesome dialogue through which Draupadi's pain was presented by the author ,it was heart breaking , makes us feel the anguish of Draupadi. Arjun summoned his voice with great difficulty. ' I come to ask you today again to share what you hold dear ,would you my love,give up a little of me? ...Accept Subhadra as your sister. All Subhadra seeks is a little place by your side...by our side...To be contd.

Draupadi said slowly. Acceptance! You have chosen your words wisely o valiant one! Many moons ago was it not the same request for acceptance that gave me more than the man I had chosen at the Swayamvara! Was it not the same venom of acceptance that I had been made to consume in the name of Dharma,in the name of betterment of humanity ? What guile has been used against me back then to accept five husbands instead of one? How strategically I was implored to consume the flames of some one else's decisions? A land that was supposed to be your empire ,a haven that would flourish with your monarchy, a golden oasis of nectar that would extinguish the flames of my passion ,had to accept the hands of four more men to rule it. ...to be contd.

I accepted relinquishing you for four years.I accepted the tiny piece of attention I got from your war ridden life.I accepted them all Partha.But the only gushing waterfall in the dense rainy forest of my little heart,that one small stone on which I sit along with you in my arms is being taken away from me. The author's rendering of Draupadi's reaction is poignant and realistic. The usage of words is simply marvellous. Draupadi's point that she had a tiny part in Arjun's life as only once in four years she will be with him. That also he is asking her to share with Subhadra which hurt Draupadi to a great extent. The expression itself is poetic and makes the reader feel the love of Draupadi for Arjun and her anguish on seeing Subhadra with him...everything described so well. Do read it Ardians if you happen to come across the marvellous piece of writing.

This is a short story that was available on net. The author's heart winning presentation of Draupadi's anguish in lucid language made me an admirer of the author and the writing. Really sharp edged arrows in the form of Panchali's questions are aimed at Arjun who will definitely feel the heat of of course of his fire born.

Another mind blowing article or short take on Arjun and Draupadi of course who else? I come across ,wish to share it, The title itself tells the theme. An Archer Who Changed Her Life Forever. Written by Vaishnavi Nair,again an Arjun Draupadi fan it seems rendered the love that blossomed between the beautiful Yajnaseni and The Archer par Excellence Arjun, in an endearingly told two part story. Excerpts from her beautiful work... Her name was Draupadi. The prized daughter of king Drupada and the wife of five renowned men,the Five Pandavas. But as she ,a fully grown damsel stepped out of the sacrificial fire ,had a distinct union with her heart's desired? Given a choice would she have agreed to devise and share her life ,love and longings with five such celebrated men? As Yajnaseni questions,she has no answer. Because never had she been presented with such an option and thus never been prompted to think about it. But one thing she knew. Life and longings she shared in equal measure. Her love though never subjected to be cut into five identical fractions. It managed to create four shares to distribute after finding for itself a sole owner in one shining man of valour,courage and splendour. Excerpt from Vaidhnavi Nair's An Archer Who Changed My life For Ever. It was'nt as if she did not love her other husbands. She could pledge her life and all things precious for any son of Pandu. Righteous Dharmaraj, Strong Bheem, Handsome Nakul and patient Sahadevwere all dearer to her than her own self. But ownership shared usually does'nt amount to much. Even a child often attaches himself to either his mother or father for immediate comfort. Never both. And her heart too was not different. Was Phalgun ever truly worthy of her affection? Arjun never was unconditionally devoted to her like Bheem. And none of the Pandavas have as many wives as Arjun has. So why him? She wondered too. May be it was due to the fact that he actually won her in swayamvar unlike his brothers who conveniently accepted her. May be it was that she was designated to be his even before she knew him.Her father king Drupad was insistent that she should be his bride and unknowingly his resolution fanned a silent hope in her heart.
