where is the first original book of Mahabharat

Hey all,

First of all, charmed to know that mahabharat is starting all over again. An awsm attempt by star plus. Fantastic casting, costumes, research and music.

Now that its started again, wat tickles my mind is that where could be the original first book of Mahabharat? Anyone has any idea?

There is not a single specific book of Mahabharata as it was written thousands of years ago.. The researchers say that it was written around 4th or 5th century BC...Mahabharata was found as various scriptures all over India (or maybe outside too).. The stories which were similar and found in most of the scriptures were compiled together to form the Great Epic Mahabharata..

P.S:- Mahabharat was originally aired on Star Plus from 16th September 2013 to 16th August 2014.. It is being re-aired on Star Plus from Monday to Saturday at 8:00 am..

[thanks for the reply. Actually u r correct but there must be some manuscripts or some written account of an old sculpture?

You know i have read in my research that some parva/parts of the books were also found in Indonesia.

Yes i watched the show and now watching the repeats also.
