It's rarely used to describe grandchildren. Although Vyasa does that w/ Dhrishtadyumna vs Prishatha, it's wrong. Only Surya-dev, Indra, Vayu and others who were actually born to Aditi would be called that

Actually, it was both - that was the point of Draupadi's pointed statement to Krishna b4 he went on his mission to Hastinapur.

I'll avoid digressing, but the bottom line here - the Pandavas were willing to live w/ a 2 state solution - Hastinapur & Indraprastha. It was Duryodhan & Dhritarashtra who wanted it to all be under themselves.

Reason I put this poll up - I wanted to see how many here are Karna fans despite supporting the Pandavas, and how many are actual Kaurava fans. I find the current results - neither - interesting 😆 Something tells me that this will win this poll

I think you misunderstood.. I dont say they are Adityas like Dhrish/Sikhandin is called Son of Prishata

Karna, Bheem, Arjun - Aditya Nandan

Ok the point is, I am trying to declare to you all with a reason for why I dont want Aditya Nandan.. Earlier too I dint like it much but I dint have a reason 😆😆😆

Karna was not sobbing.. He was only crying on Dushyasan's death...I wanted him to lament... Because in this Starbharat, Dushyasan had given him moral support when even Duryodhan ditched him... 😆

On the poll, I chose the Pandavas. As a Karnali (love the term btw!) of course I've always wanted Karna to triumph. Unfortunately his circumstances led him to the wrong side.

I often find the Pandavas smug and sanctimonious and have some sympathy for Duryodhan. In spite of all this, I still feel the Pandavas had more dharma on their side than the Kauravas. I don't say that they were pure as the driven snow (not my any means) but on balance...

In correcting all the injustices done to the Pandavas, however, the greatest of injustices done to Karna were left uncorrected. That's what makes him a tragic hero.

His story is what makes the Mahabharata great literature. You don't always have a happy ending. The good guys don't always win. Life is fundamentally unfair.

The part in bold, very much tells that the war was about land and not punishment.. Draupadi wanted the war as revenge, but it finally happened as a regular one - for land..
