Mahabharata Written Update - 18/7/2014
Kurekshetra war 14th Night ends and 15th Day begins
(*) - Apologies for the late update.
Episode starts with Duryodhana addressing Karna and ordering him to use the Shakti given by Lord Indra on Ghatotkach, Karna replies and says that this Shakti is only for Arjuna, this Shakti is a form of his diss-appointment throughout his life, if he (Karna ) uses this Shakti upon Ghatotkach - his struggle will not result anything, Karna then tells Duryodhana not to worry he will pierce Ghatotkach with a volley of arrows. Bhima comes to the battlefield and gives a smile to Ghatotkach, Bhima then adresses Duryodhana and tells asks him if he is only going to protect his life, Bhima then says that he has taken 20 Dhritashtra's son as captive and will kill them, and taunts that if he ( Duryodhana) has the skill to stop him from killing his brothers. Bhima with a smile leaves the battlefield. Duryodhana tells Karna that he ( Dury ) has to go for protecting his brothers and orders Karna to kill Ghatotkach, Ghatokatch breathes fire and destroys Duryodhana's chariot, Duryodhana jumps just in time to save himself, Duryodhana tries to go but Ghatokatch doesnt let him, Ghatotkach creates a ring of fire around Duryodhana and picks him up, Ghatotkatch tells Duryodhana that he has heard how cowardly they killed his brother Abhimanyu, Abhimanyu's soul will be pleased when he (Dury ) dies, Duryodhana shouts for Karna and Drona to protect him, Karna fires an arrow which cuts Dury's arm and peirces Ghatotkatch, Ghatokatch address Karna that if his ( Karna's ) arrows kill Duryodhana, his father Bhima will not be happy since he has vowed to kill Duryodhana, Ghatotkatch addresses his father that he has taken his ( Bhima) enemy captive and reqauest Bhima to kill him, Bhima is looking at the brothers of Duryodhana who are also taken as captive, Bhima smilingly says that both of the ways are profitable, Bhima then angrily says that if he kills Duryodhana firss, his vow will be broken, but killing him will end the war once and for all, he then says that sun is about to rise and a new day will end the war once and for all. Bhima then addresses the Upa-Pandavas to keep the 20 brothers of Duryodhana as captive, he will be right back. Arjuna is seen destorying the Kaurava army.
Bhima tells Ghatotkatch to put Duryodhana down so that he ( Bhima ) can kill him, Duryodhana shouts to Karna and Drona to protect him and kill Ghatotkatch, Karna remembers Indra's Shakti and starts chanting the mantras, when Karna is seen to chant mantras for calling Vasav Shakti, Lighting is seen to emit from the cloud and the whole battlefield gets illuminated by the constant lightiing, Bhima is shocked, Karna completes chanting the mantras and the Shakti appears on his bowstring, he ( Karna ) then addresses the Shakti that by the order of Lord Indra, the Shakti has to obey him ( Karna ) once, he then orders the Shakti to kill Ghatotkatch, Karna fires the Shakti upon Ghatotkatch, Bhima is shocked, Bhima jumps from his chariot and comes in the way of Shakti, the Shakti then divides into and avoids Bhima ( Who is right in between Ghatotkatch and the Shakti ) and then joins again to strike Ghatotkatch, Ghatotkatch is struck by Indra's Shakti and drops Duryodhana, Arjuna is teary eyed and Krishna is sad, Bhima is teary eyed and shocked he screams Ghatotkatch in agony and Ghatotkatch gives him a smile, Ghatotkatch increases his size and falls on the Kaurava Army killing many soldiers. Krishna has closed his eyes and is shown very sad just like he was when Abhimanyu died, one tear drops from Krishna's eyes.
Ghatotkatch is dead and his body returns to his normal size, Arjuna is shown crying, Bhima runs towards the dead body of his and starts crying, he then says that he ( Ghatotkatch ) has given a huge sacrifice, after all this war wasn't his, Rakshas has always been an enemy to humans but he gave a sacrifice for humans, Bhima then says that what will he answer his mother ( Hidimbaa)
Bhima wrathfully gets up and shouts to Duryodhana that he will free mother earth for the 'adharm' of Duryodhana, Duryodhana taunts Bhima that if he ( Bhima ) can increase his size just like his soon maybe he can kill him then otherwise he ( Duryodhana ) doesnt even have to use his mace to kill him him ( Bhima ), he then tells Bhima that his friend Karna will kill him with his arrows, Bhima rushes towards Duryodhana, Karna seeing Bhima rush pierces Bhima with two arrows, Bhima then address Karna that these arrows wont hurt him ( Bhima ), a needle gives a larger wound that his ( Karna's ) arrows, Bhima then wrathfully takes out the two arrows and throws them.
Arjuna addresses Karna that his( Karna;s ) arrows are only meant for him, when a monkey after pulling lions tail climbs up the tree, it is not called a fight, Karna then replies that Arjuna has wasted his Shakti on Ghatotkatch just to save himself, Arjuna looks shocked and suddenly becomes very emotional, he devastatingly asks Krishna that if this was the plan, Krishna replies yes, Indra's Shakti has to be fired, Arjuna then shockingly asks Krishna for how many more Sacrfices is he ( krishna) ready to give, Krishna replies that he is ready to even sacrifice Arjuna and himself, he then proceeds to say that whoever needs to get sacrificed, will get sacrifced and whoever needs to be alive, will have to alive with all the sorrow, he then tells Arjuna to keep on fighting. Bhima is shown killing Duryodhana's brothers right infornt of his eyes, Bhima taunts Duryodhana that he has killed 70 of his brothers, Shalya attacks Bhima but Bhima hurls his mace at him and Shalya is hurt.
Pandava camp is doing Ghatotkatch last rites, every one is crying and teary eyed, when the last rites of Ghatotkatch finishes, a mysterious fog from the sky comes and takes Ghatotkatch's body into the sky, Bhima is looking devastated. Bhima looks at the camera angrily and the episode ends.
Precap - Krishna and Pandavas along with the Panchals are standing in the battleifield, Krishna addresses Drupad that today any how Guru Drona has to be killed, Krishna then says that Guru Drona cannot be slain while he has weapon in his hand, they need to get Drona lay all of his weapons, Nakul replies that why will Drona lay down his weapons willingly, Krishna says if Ashwathma dies - Guru Drona will keep aside his weapons.
