Draupadi's full life was full of what she did not deserve. Firstly she was born to destroy the Kurus (She was not the reason behind the destruction. i dont believe that. But her father wanted her only for that.) She was not denied for father's love (as shown in StarB) but she was not born because her father wanted a daughter. She was born as a weapon to her father. I feel this is sad. Then she got married to 5 men, instead of Arjun. Then, Arjun went for exile. The one (who is said to be her favourite) was gone. Then came the dice game. She was humiliated in the worst way possible. She saw her husbands quietly sitting and tolerating it. Then came years of exile, and she even had to spend a year as a maid of a queen. the Princess of Panchaal, born to be Queen, half of her life went on in the forests. Then finally, she lost everything she had. Happiness was completely lacking in her life. Now look or fortune and happiness is not same. Panchaali was lucky about VH. She was saved by Krishna himself.
Kunti too suffered alot. She was a very unhappy woman according to me. She was given to a king by her real parents. She got married to Pandu, but could not get any facilities of a Queen. her curiously made her a jealous, bad mother to alot of the world. She lost her husband very young, with no fault of hers. She kept on hiding her secret, letting it rot and wither in her heart. When coming to HP, being the deserving Queen she and her five sons were treated the worst way possible. A attempt of murder was also made for Bheem. Then the Varnavat incident took place. How brutal can this get? Then she brought in so much darkness in a girl who was like her daughter. (knowing or not knowing). Then her sons were again humiliated and sent for exile. She went and revealed the rotten truth, and she got nothing beneficial. (If she had at all gone for benefit.) Then she lost so many grandchildren, children like people and her eldest son. She saw her husband's clan getting burned into ashes.
And lastly, a minor character in the epic, Uttara. I really feel bad for her. She was a young girl. She was married to Abhimanyu, not knowing what future awaits for her. Just after her marriage the war broke in. everything was uncertain. Who would live, who not. She lost her brothers on the first day itself. I am not sure about her father. Then she lost her husband. That too she was pregnant. Ashwathama's Brahmastra almost killed her unborn child. She gave birth to her son, without a father. She got nothing in life. She did not make any mistake. She did not ask for anything either. Still she suffered.

Suffering is actually free. Nobody asks for it. It comes naturally. make any mistake or not, suffering comes free.

Agree with you dear. I strongly believe that Draupadi, Kunti actually suffered a lot. And even Uttara who was very young when she lost her father, brother and husband. She also had a tragic life.

For me, Draupadi suffered the most.
But I'd like to ask this -
When we look at Draupadi's life, shouldn't we actually feel inspired by the way she lived her life despite her sufferings?

If you ask me, personally, I'd much rather get inspired by Draupadi's fire, fierceness, boldness, and heroism, rather than keep counting her sufferings and misery in life.
Of course, this is completely my personal opinion.

Yes, Draupadi suffered. And there can be no denying it.
But how did she face her sufferings? How did she live her life despite all the troubles she faced?

To me, THAT is the most important thing.

No offence but I'm the kind of person who prefers to see the fight rather than focusing on the sorrows.

Hi Angela

This is a good question but my perspective on this is a bit different from others.

What's suffering? Is it physical or emotional or both?

Can we judge suffering based on our opinions or should it be based on what a person experiences themselves?

On the outside, most of us agree that the Pandavs/Kunti/Draupadi suffered the most but if one were to ask Duryodhana, Shakuni and Dhristrashtra, they would think they suffered the most.

Did Dhristarashtra ever have a night when he slept peacefully and restfully?

Did Yudi ever have a guilt free moment after the dyut sabha?

Did Shakuni ever have a moment when he was not planning how to avenge the insult on Gandhar?

Did Duryodhana ever have a moment when he was content with what he had?

Pandavs suffered physically and didn't have the usual comforts of royalty when they were in exile but didn't they have moments when they were surrounded by serenity of nature, company of the learned and simple pleasures of life?

So, in short, I feel suffering is a state of mind and perhaps the Pandavs didn't suffer as much as we perceive. The one who follows adharma suffers the most- because they are never content and never at peace with themselves.

Very nice dear. I loved your answer. Surely what you said is correct. Suffering is a state of mind and if seen that way the Kauravs suffered more than Pandavs.

Dear, I agree with you. She might have suffered but she is a true inspiration.

can anyone tell me who did not suffered in mahabharat? to me, every suffering of the charecters of mb is a lesson. take an example of draupadi, yes she suffered the most, but, despite the suffering she did not gave up or lost hope.

According to me Soldiers and their families from both the sides suffered the most. When we see or read or hear Mahabharat we talk about the main characters and their sufferings but never are these soldiers mentioned. So for me it was the normal people who suffered the most.

Every character of Mahabharata suffered , some emotionally some Physically and some in both the ways .
But still for me the worst sufferers were
Uttara ,: she was very young , she lost her brother , father and husband , her son was stillborn . Every moment of her life must have been very painful.
Gandhari and Dhritrashta : they lost their hundred sons ,even the loss of one son or daughter is too much for parents to handle ,they lost their hundred sons in the war . Its very hard to Imagine what had they went through all the years post war when they lived .
Draupadi : She lost her siblings , sons and Father post war , even before war she was divided between five pandavas , She was insulted in Dyut sabha . She had to spend thirteen years in exile

i think almost all the characters has suffered a lot. firstly the pandavas. yudisthir was very much knowledgeable regarding dharma. and yudisthir never wanna to put his brothers and paanchali at stake😭 but was forced to do so because he considered himself to be bounded by dharma. bheem Arjun nakul sahadev they never were bounded by dharma but were bounded by the love of their elder brother. draupadi suffered a lot. when she was born from the yagna she was not accepted by her father.💔 she wanted to marry arjun but got divided among the pandavas. 💔she wanted respect but got insult. she wanted the love and shower love on her sons but they were all killed in war. bhishma also was bounded by dharma he never took decisions in his life his life was following orders. abhimanyu 16year old warrior could not spend a joyful life the age at which he should be gaining knowledge he was seen fighting the war and weapons were in his hands when there should have been books.😭😭😭 he could not see his son at least once and was killed during war even unaware of uttaras pregnancy.😭😭😭 uttara lost her brother father and beloved husband abhimanyu when she was pregnant with parikshit. drithrashtra knew his sons were unrighteous but blind by the love of his sons he could never advise his sons regarding righteousness.😡 i think if someone do not deserve to be called as someone who suffered is shakuni and the kauravas.😡😡 karna could not get the love of his mother even when he was just a baby,😭 he always seeked respect but despite being a prince was known as a sudha putr. he could not get his rights throughout his life.😭 he never intended to kill abhimanyu but became a part of his death going by his respect and love towards his friend. so i think the entire mahabharata is about sacrifice, devotion, strength, salvation, pain, sorrow and sacrifice and suffering is all over. but abhimanyu, draupadi, pandavas, uppandavas, bhishma, uttara are the ones who reaaly suffered. sorry forgot to mention karna.😭 and star mahabharat is doing complete justice to their roles.👏👏 specially shaheer, paras😃,pooja, vin, lavanya.rohit, saurav and everybody including aham arpit nirbhay😆.
