I love that scene from Matrix.. When Keenu meets Oracle first time she tells him not to worry about the vase.. Keenu gets confused , swirls around to look for it and accidentally knocks the vase which breaks into pieces. Orcale smiles and says this vase..
"How do you know before hand that vase will be broken ?" Keenu inquires..
"More important question to ask is whether the vase would have broken if I had not mentioned about it." Oracle replies..
What is cause and effect ? The vase was broken because Keenu looked for it. and he looked ONLY because Oracle mentioned it..
On this forum, there are many who thinks everything in MB was Krishna Leela and he knew all results in advance. This means they believe in destiny and everything is pre-ordained.
In Karma siddhanta, we are told that we are bound to get paid in equal currency for all of our misdeeds. If we get duped in later life due to our past mistakes, does it not mean that someone else was forced to dupe to teach us lesson ?(I am not talking about physical disability) and now he is bound to suffer ? Then is it pre-ordained ?
Geeta does not seem to answer this (I must confess I have very little knowledge) and encourages us to do our duty and not to worry about fruits.. But it does not say anything one way or other..
What do you learned people think about this ? How to disprove the theory that everything is pre-ordained ?
I would like to conclude with a beautiful zen story..
A philosopher dreams that he was a butterfly.. In the morning he starts thinking.. Is he a man awake now, who dreamt of butterfly last night or Is he really a butterfly in sleep who is dreaming to be a man just now ?
Well.. one can always whistle and sing Que Sera Sera..
