Beautiful post...👏
Indeed we talk about the struggles of Draupadi, Karna , Bhishm, Gandhari, but we forget about Uttara.
She lost everything, that also at such a young age...
I guess people who are chosen by God to fulfil a specific purpose, lead a very difficult life.
Draupadi was one such person. Uttara was another.

She have the Kuru dynasty a new leaf. Without her, the throne would have no heir. I now down to hear and Shriya my love brilliant post. @Shriya actually in south stories of Shashirekha and Abhimanyu are famous while its mentioned that his marriage to Uttara was a political alliance. But here in north Sahshirekha is never mentioned and its only Uttara who is taken as his wife!

@Shriya. Mayabaazar was the thing that broke my heart. Earlier I had never known about Shashirekha and the citatuons and plays that I had read spoke so much about Abhimanyu and Uttara. After watching it I came to there existed Shashirekha. I had read an article on the internet saying that he had loved Shashirekha more for she was his childhood companion. And Uttara and his marriage had lasted only for 6 months or so. So here comes the narration that says...well do the math!

Honestly untill Mayabazaar I had never known there was another wife to Abhimanyu. So this kind of agravates Uttara's situation. I mean just when she was suppose to build on her prospects all the basic necessities were snatched away. Also after the war there is no mention of Sudeshna, so it can be taken as she sacrified herself on the pyre. To think in this manner Uttara lost everything that was dear to her. For a few moments her child too. That raises her to an equal footing as that of Draupadi. Both the ladies faced similar fate albeit in a different manner!

Ooo i din knw this...i knw the presence of shashirekha aggrevates uttaras miseries to some extent but my heart goes out to her as well...if really abhi loved her more then she also had to face the misery of loosing the love of her life...n i m nt sure if they had a baby together, never heard of it...so again at the end of the day it comes to this...lot of stories n characters frm mb r still unexplored...

Well Abhimanyu was only a kid when he married Shashirekha, and when she came of age he was in Matsya taking vows with Uttara. Krishna knew Shashirekha couldn't carry on the lineage and that it had to be Uttara. Hence she suffered more in that context. Secondly Shashirekha too suffered its only that she had more memories to live with!

Thank u evryone for commenting n likeing my post😃
While going through it again I found another topic that aroused my interest:- shashirekha...
I don't believe in d logic that I have to hate/dislike her to love/like Uttara...I find it absurd...
I like both of them...I feel both had their own struggles...

one got married to her childhood love but never felt his presence in majority of her adult life. He dint have much contact with him n he remarried another girl. When her husband died she was not near him..she never had the chance to start a family with him(atleast according to my knowledge) she had to suffer away from all this...

Contrast to this there was another girl, again married at a young age n her husband was already married before. Within months of matrimony she got pregnant but had to face the deaths of her brothers father husband in this tough time. Also she lost her son momentarily...

Whose sufferings r greater?? I can't tell that... Their grief cannot be measured...
My soft corner for Uttara is not only fr loosing abhi..it is about Uttar virat n parikshit too... If we consider the hardships in the entire life then clearly uttara's troubles r more...
Regarding abhi I really can't tell which of his wife suffered more n I really don't want to compare their grief...it will only demean their sacrifice...

Again, this was just my outpouring of feelings...no offences meant...😊
