Well hi ppl😃...Mahabharat is an epic with pretty strong male as well as female characters...ladies like Draupadi Kunti Gandhari Satyawati n many more are always a hot topic of discussion. But in my opinion there is another girl who is just as strong but some how not much talked about...

I m talking about Uttara. In a time where a lady's life was centered around the men of her life, she lost her entire support system in matter of 18days...

She lost her brothers on the first day itself, followed by the demise of her father n finally her husband... it has been discussed time n again how tragic abhimanyu's death was. How long were they married for?? 6 months?? When she had just started dreaming about the bright prospects of her future all her dreams were shatterd. She wanted to immolate herself in her husband's pyre but was stopped for the sake of her unborn baby. But here again her patience was tested... she had to face the trauma of giving birth to a stillborn... yes we all know what happnd next but imagining uttara's state of mind within those moments before parikshit was revived, is not possible...

In this small post i wanted to pour out my feelings on Uttara n give her strength n hardships a small little mention..it was not meant to disrespect anyone in any way...😊

Mahabharat for me is an epic that celebrated womanhood. We have so many strong characters that centralized the events both before and after the war. And if we have to talk about the second generation characters then Uttara will have to be mentioned.

A sixteen year old got married and even before she could hold the helm of her thoughts a war was declared that killed her brothers, het father and her husband. She couldn't even mourn their deaths for she had to stay strong for her unborn child. Next she was attacked by Ashwathama and gave birth to a stillborn. What not she must have gone through in those eighteen days. She indeed is a very strong character in the epic. Lets not forget Draupadi at least had her husbands and her grandson in Parikshit, Uttara only had her son who never saw his father.

Beautiful post dear

Our heart goes out for Uttaea. She was chosen by destiny to help carry the family name. That was her life purpose. But in choosing her for the role destiny made her a victim of cruel losses.

She is unique as she saw grief at a very early age but in my woman every female character of Mahabharat has had her share of sorrow and loss

It's a sad part of the epic

@shriyu awesome post dear!! yup uttara is one among the strongest women of Mahabharat!!
i do feel that less light is thrown on her life after abhi's death!!
she is the rajmatha of Indraprasth!! n not only that of the entire aryavarth!!

totally agree wid u dear...mahabharat truely has many many shades!!

N uttaras situation IMO depicts the flaws in the society...hw devastating child marriages can proove to be...

yaa nandini di...each n evry lady of the epic faced losses...not only the ones mentioned...wives daughters mothers sistersof each n evry souldier who died on kurukshetra have their own tale of grief to tel...

Its funny naa that ppl who r instrumental n making change never have happy lives...but i guess this ability of these ppl make them stand apart frm d crowd...

thanks krish!!!! Ironic hw she never became the queen but became the rajmata
