THE MASTER SCULPTOR

There was once a sculptor who found a granite rock and took it home. He chiseled away at it until an exquisite statue emerged.

An onlooker congratulated him in appreciation, "What an amazing talent! You have created a most beautiful work of art!"

But the sculptor did not see it that way.

He said, "The statue was already there. When I chanced upon the rock, I saw the statue hidden in it. All I did was chip away the unwanted bits to reveal the true nature of the rock".

This is really the crux of the Gita.

Like Arjun, we are all rocks and Krishna the master sculptor. With his hammer of love and chisel of compassion, he tirelessly chips away at all the muck, lies and masks we have accumulated, to reveal our naked face. To reveal the true, beautiful and unique person that each one of us is, has always been, but has forgotten.

Krishna introduces us to ourselves.

He holds our hands, takes us on an inward journey at the end of which, we say "hello" to our own soul.

A journey through the Gita is actually a process of self annihilation - which culminates in self discovery.

In IF, his rank is the highest among all the MB casts and in twitter, his fan following is the highest. 😃
