dronacharya award

hi im new.
a doubt
is it fair to give best award in d name of dronacharya who asked eklavya to give his fingure as guru dakshina just to make sure that no competition for arjun.does such a person should be called as best guru even though he made some thousands of great warriors?

does he ever appreciated karna for his skills?(just want to know)

I'm afraid this question is best answered by the Government of India.

As the best sportsperson award is named 'Arjuna award', government might have thought that the best coaching should go to Dronacharya. Since two different individuals never think the same, questions will never end even when someone attempts to justify!

If you question the reason for the "Dronacharya" award, then questions can also come up for why we have the "Arjuna" award for the elite sportspersons in the country...

And questions can also be raised why there is no "Draupadi" award for women who have survived abuse...

Questions like these can go on and on, I'm afraid...that's all I can say.

i mean what forum mems feel about that.
i dont know how arjuna award skipped from my mind.
why talk about awards which doesnt exist.i dont feel any need of draupadi award.

Well I cannot judge the government of India's desicion but in my Point of Veiw well Dronacharya award and Arjuna awards are very important as Dronacharya was one of the best tutors and has given to the world a successful student like Arjuna..

I think arjun represent hardwork,dedication and devotion of a sportsperson.hence arjun award. abt drona award though I am not quite a fan of drona I admit, but may b drona award is given because he was a really famous guru, and to represent relationship between a student and guru like arjun and drona.

Just because of Eklavya he cannot be called a bad guru. Dronacharya award is given to teachers. He taught his students with love and hardwork. I agree that what he did with Eklavya was not right. It was very wrong. But he have the world warriors like Arjuna! So I think Dronacharya award is important.

And no add on about the last question... A warrior whose main aim in life is to defeat another one and not actually learning cannot be called a good student. So If drona had not praised him..not much of concern.. He got great training from Parshuram

Well the Government of Karnataka gives Ekalavya Awards. Not sure whether the Government of India or any other states give this award.
