All she said was she wanted some lightness in the EDT. If it gets too serious, it turns off people and if it gets too humorous, it turns off people. The bottom line - we need an equilibrium in the posts. That's what Nandini is trying to say.

@Visrom - I don't want to speak for Nandini...so will only speak for myself -everyone has right to post and should do so. I hope you stick around and you asked a great question which Shyam has taken time to answer.

In terms of interacting you may have an organic point - all prefer to interact with like minded people...and its easy to fall into habit of interacting with only those we already know. That creates a barrier for newcomers to a situation. I don't know that there is a solution to this be it here or elsewhere in life - those who are oldies should endeavor to not be cliquey and when one is new they need to try a bit harder for others to warm up to them. That said... we all like what we intrinsically like (some serious and others not)

As one of the people involved in said serious discussion I can tell you I agreed with her 100%.

And I think she is being very nice about the tone being directed at her, frankly
