Which Pati would dare give Panchaali an answer as frank as this. Marriage is about honesty and Nakul was being honest with Panchaali. Arjun saw Panchaali's reaction to Nakul and he realized that Panchaali wanted to hear not what everyone wanted to hear, but what she really wanted to hear. Face it, Arjun was probably thinking the same thing as Nakul, but didn't have the balls to say it.
