Krishna's form, too, is symbolic. Deep blue is the colour of eternity. It is the colour of the sky, and of the deep ocean. Yellow is the colour of the earth. A deep blue god-image enclosed in yellow clothes symbolises the spirit clothed in the body. Krishna, then, is a symbol of the body and spirit

Another interpretation/symbolism from VH scene

This follows the basic principle of Gita- the soul with it's various layers of clothes

Soul: Draupadi

Clothes/Body: Pandavs

The body 'died' the moment the Pandavs became slaves. hence, the soul was exposed. That's when God intervened and 'covered' the soul in another layer of clothes (literally). The soul was never really insulted in the grand scheme of things- it just wrapped itself in another layer to continue it's existence in the never ending cycle of life and death.

and this interpretation is also in tune with the one as how our soul is eternal...and after death of the physical body the soul moves on to a new body just like we change clothes,...and once a person attains moksha or salvation the soul merges with the Supreme being therefore never really perishing and becoming one with the supreme life force...

and you know this is in accordance with quantum physics too...it states how every material thing has a dual nature and hence a wave nature...and the world we witness is the material world..it is our incapability and limitation that we cant see beyond what our inferior eyes allow...

and isnt this exactly what bhakti says...every thing is maya...an illusion...and we can only see the Eternal and Divine Truth once we cleanse ourselves, purify ourselves of moh-maaya...only then out internal eyes will open and we will witness the truth beyond the maaya of this perishable world...then we attain nirvana...when we get over the Moh-Maaya...and only then can we be truly free...

Thanks Nikki. My only question is- if everyone's soul is recycled for eternity then we should have a constant # of living beings on this planet- unless of course we are all recycled between other planets in the universe

may be we are...and may be this concept itself is Maaya...we are so miniscule when you think in cosmic terms or even astronomy terms...look at our galaxy...our universe...look at the scale of its magnitude...then the recent researches are saying that the known visible universe( most of which we dont understand or are able to comprehend) is just a teeny-weeny bit of this huge thing...the dark matter and the dark fluid...

if you read abt string theory its pretty fantastic and makes one wonder just why do we create unnecessary problems when we are nothing more than mere specks of star dust...

and doesnt science dictate how energy cant be created or destroyed..it only changes from one form to another...and how the useful energy is changing to wasteful entropy and one day the universe shall cease to function... may be we remain constant too among the various dimensions of the universe...and maybe we are all heading for the end only to restart at the beginning...

Since this is a symbolic thread, let me add, Hindu philosophy believes once we gain knowledge about frutilessness of the constant journey, we pray to God, receive enlightenment and be one with him
A realised soul realises we are nothing, and we are everything. It is out ego which makes us see things as different, for a realised soul death, life, here there, nothing makes any difference, everything is divinem, everything is Brahman.

That Yudisthir enters Swarga in his mortal body shows this. He is almost a realised a soul. For him this and that, here and there, friend and relative, love and hate do not matter. The Dog represents his faith, his dharam, and even he lets go of it after he visits narak once and realises, everything is Krishna.

No wonder another name of MB is Jaya, victory over ones own self.

@leadnitrate
beautifully written...indeed the victory over adharma was this instead of the one achieved at such ghastly and drastic costs in the kurukshatra war...

Thought ful post ...

Mahabhart beautifully depicts inner conflicts of good and bad of a person through dharma and adharma.

Krishna and Arjun , the Nar narayan .. the actual world resides in them . Nar is not different from Narayan , infact he comes from the god but his righteous deeds paves the way to have supreme power at his side to help him and to attain moksha.

Pandavas exile clearly teaches us that god makes us to go through hard ship to bring out best out of us but its only our patience and honesty all through the test yields the successful results .

Centuries gone by but Women and her situations are same .Atleast Draupadi had Krishna to save but present generation has to stand up for her own self defense and Draupadi's revolt some where or the other shows us the present scenario .

Mahabharat presents us all the facades of the mankind and it is in our hands to choose the path wisely and mould ourselves .
