Star Plus did a fantastic job in visual effects but have completely ruined important characters specially Gandhari in particular. If todays episode turns out how it appears from the add then creative team would have crossed all limits to an extent, that we have decided to register a complaint with broadcasting authority if her character assassination continues. Creative team will have to prove their point with reference to what is written by Maharishi Ved Vyas about Gandhari. We have a very different view on Gandhari and what was shown yesterday after the show is nothing less than character vastraharan. We will wait for today's episode telecast and if Gandhari's character assassination continues we will demand explanation and proofs for potraying Gandhari in a manner creative team have shown. Mahabharat started well but went on a disappointing run when Bheeshma and Vidur were sidelined. Gandhari's role was chopped and slowly treatment to the plots made one feel that they are watching a typical saas bahu serial. Makers of Mahabharat are making her loook like a typical mother but she was not like the one this team is potraying. She was strong willed and had the strength to accept what her children deserved. She objected injustice and that is what makes her an idol which this team have failed to understand.

Gandhari planned to curse Yudhishthira after the War, Ved Vyas himself had to come and persuade her to give up her "evil intentions". That is from section-14 of Istri-Vilaap Parva.

It is very well known that she was so much better than her sons, but she was no saint either.

This is actually closer to how she really was.
She is not asking that Pandavas be poisoned or roasted alive.
She just wants to make sure that her sons are safe and not killed by Bheem as he has promised.
She wants that Pandavas should be weak so that they cannot harm her sons.
She is being a mother.

Well, do what you think is right.

She was actually the most typical Mother.

Gandhari will curse Krishna later on in the story - if THAT is "excused" as a "mother's pain", then whatever floats your boat...

don't react until uve seen the actual telecast. What it looked to me is that she is freaked out at bheem's pran n is turning paranoid n desperate. U can't assume that the character is gonna be made negetive like duri or shakuni. N plus gandhari is not a role model, she is not the perfect all forgiving mother figure. She had vices like jealousy n insecurity. This version is just the portrayal of the side which was long hidden...that's it...

There are many interpretations on Mahabharat, but the one which is written by Maharishi Ved Vyas should be considered valid. All I am saying is, makers have to prove what they are showing is as per what Vyas has written. Instead of just a disclaimer they should clearly mention sources they are referring to. Gandhari and Dhritrashtra are made look modern era cuples whmight react in a manner the creatives are potraying.. Atleast we would come to know whether we should follow this Mahabharata or leave it. If makers feel that's how Gandhari reacted then there are more facts they should highlight, one of the many is why Shakuni played catalyst. Makers are just concentraing too much on Draupadi and have manipulated with timings ad stands of others includinPandavas. Atlast, It wasn't Yudhishter, Gandhari cursed Krishna and she said Yadav's too will destroy each other like Krishna made Kauravas and Pandavas fight with each other. If

All I said is if they do continue with character assassination I will register a complaint. I will continue watching the show, I have an advice for you, if you dont like the post just move on like you do with a remote. Just look at other comments, I think this forum is for grown ups and not kids.

Woah, you must be 5000 years old to know Ved vyas mahabharata, please tell me the secret of long life.

How do you know that the copy you read was of Ved Vyasa, do you own a copy of mahabharat autographed by Ved vyas himself. If you own one, please share.

The copy you read, was nothing but a translation of a translation which has been translated hundreds of times. Next time please mention the translation instead of Ved vyas.
