There is never half truth - no fuzzy logic :(

It is quite unfortunate he was put in that situation none other than fate (in other words Kunti/Suryadev). Role of mother/father is clearly delineated in smrithi.

Anyways , back to Parashurama - if you consider him as GOD, He would have known his identity NOT through a bee piercing Karn, but by divya dhristi. It is divine destiny to have him cursed. So there needs to be some reason for curse/his death, that's pretty much it.

The greatness of Karn is he not only stood against all odds, but the charity he has done without even caring for his life is something far far superior. All he wanted was his talent to be recognized. As I said a tiger can be a tiger, you cannot tell him to be a cat

He never got his birth right the way he ought to have got, but he got more than all that after death - everlasting glory.

Raghuji, it appears what you are saying is that Parashurama is God and hence he must have known the future and hence he deliberately curse Karna so that it woukd be possible/easier to slay him in the war.
The problem with such approach is that we implicitly assume that everything is pre-destined and God already knows all future. If thats the case why blame game for any one ? Why sympathy for anyone ? Whay hate/love someone ? These individuals are not responsible for their own acts. They are simply ENACTING the drama which is already predecided by supreme director, THE GOD.
Then whole discussion is futile.

That's what it is, whether we like it or not. The purpose of Puranas/itihasas are essence of Vedas but in story form, for easier understanding and we learn some good things.
Anyways,

If we want to remove GOD angle and want to have some fun in the forum, let's keep going but not sure we would get a convincing answer for Parashurama teaching Bhishma.

Secondly,
We get 7 colors from a single white light source. I like orange someone else blue and so on, but Ultimately source is one

What were the reasons for kingdoms other than HP and the Pandavas to participate in Kurukshetra? i am aware 2 kingdoms automatically became allies through marital alliances, but were there other reasons too? I was simply wondering why so many kingdoms felt themselves obligated to participate in the war. Did they have their own agendas to address and personal scores to settle with rival kingdoms on the opposite side?

Yes they had.. some I know are Trigata - Matsya rivalry (credit.Vrish), Bhurisravas* - Satyaki family rivalry, Bhagadatta wanting to avenge Narakasura's death..

Bhurisravas was anyway a Kuru family member so rivalry is not the only reason..

In addition Satyaki-Kritavarma rivalry. But Kritavarma's clansmen from Kuntibhoja's family fought for the Pandavas.

The Avanti kings joined Dury because of their hatred of Krishna. They wanted their sister to marry Dury, but she eloped with Krishna (I believe Arjun helped Krishna so more salt in the rivalry).

Some of Kekayas joined Dury because their cousins joined Pandavas. Alambusha (the one who did not kill Iravan, there were two as per KMG) joined Dury because Bhim had killed his father or brother. Alayudha also joined for the same reason. There are more

My personal opinion is that it was more of politics and less of any greater good.
