But how Drona and Ashwathama are to be less blamed? they were as outsiders as Karna was 😕.. on account of Kripi?

I'll do something I almost never do - use BRC. During the Matsya campaign, Kripa told Karna that he, as well as they - Drona, Kripa, Ashwatthama - were outsiders to the Kuru family, and so Karna had no business telling the Kurus what relationship Duryodhan should have w/ the Pandavas.

That's a legitimate criticism of Karna that the gurus had. The only way Karna had any right to intervene in the family politics of the Kaurava would have been as a Kaunteya, but that was something that Kunti offered him only on hope that he switch sides, which he refused. So as a Kaunteya, he would not have been an outsider, and could have weighed in on whether Indraprastha should be given to Yudisthir or not, as well as whether the 2 kingdoms should be united under 1 king.

But as Radheya, the rivalry b/w Duryodhan & Yudisthir was none of his business, and in that POV, Kripa, Drona & Ashwatthama were justified.

What Drona was to Dhridrashtra, was Karna to Dury.. how does that make it different? except that they believed Karna spoke against and Drona for the Pandavas?

Both Drona and Karna believed that they spoke for the welfare of Duryodhan.. how can one be wrong and one right? Among all, I think only Bheeshma can be given the excuse.. Kripa to an extent..

It depends on how one defines 'speaking out for the Pandavas'. I tend to put it 3 ways:

Pro-Kauravas: Supporting Duryodhan as the yuvraj/king of an undivided Hastinapur
Pro-Pandava: Supporting Yudisthir as the yuvraj/king of an undivided Hastinapur
Neutral: Supporting a 2 state solution, where Duryodhan rules Hastinapur and Yudisthir Indraprastha. Aspirations of both Kauravas & Pandavas are respected

Using the above definition, I'd say that from the outsiders, Kripa, Drona & Ashwatthama were neutral. Which was the appropriate stance to take for an outsider.

Agreed Vrish.. Kripa, Drona & Ashwatthama were neutral.. that is why I said speaking for the good of Duryodhana and not speaking what is neutral or good for the subjects.. He along with Dury felt that it the Pandavas were not entitled.. so his suggestions were against them..

Given the demands of there to be a Bheeshma AT, we decided to have a look at the Kaurava ATs to see the activity there.

What we observed was that all the Kuru/Kaurava ATs so far have been largely dominated by Bheeshma. In the Kuru AT#0, it was initially shared somewhat b/w Satyavati and other early characters, such as Ambika, Shakuni, Dhritarashtra-Gandhari. In the Kaurava AT#1, the Kaurava kids also came into their own, and some other characters, like Ekalavya and Ashwatthama made their presence felt. For a while, Karna too had a bit of a home there, but once Karna got his own AT, that went away.

However, aside from those outliers, the trend in the Kaurava AT has been overwhelmingly about Bheeshma: not even other characters, such as Drona, Dhritarashtra, Gandhari or Shakuni come close. The only other character to have made any impact at all has been Arpit/Duryodhan.

Looking at that trend, the decision has been taken to convert the Kaurava ATs into a Bheeshma AT, where the Kuru clan will also have a home. In reality, this has been a Bheeshma AT and can from now on, be formally recognized as such. Yeah, it is the Kaurava group AT as well, but at this point, let's face it - this serial has a few chosen heros, and the only one still being celebrated here is Bheeshma. Hence the switchover!

From the next AT, the changes will be more prominent. In the meantime, if Bheeshma fans have any suggestions for pg 1 & 2 of this AT, feel free to suggest it to me, either publicly or thru PM.
