Original MB script, in contrast, was a scribble of a partially evolved pachyderm on a fragile palmleaf using a primitive tusk as a pen.

The serial has even changed life of mighty Bheeshma, Karna and Pandavas, so I am not surprised it changed yours.

A lot of you have been wondering where Karna is all these weeks since his sudden outburst against Panchali b4 the vh. So I dogged him since that event, and got the low-down on him.

After the vh, Karna was overwhelmed w/ shame & guilt @ insulting his aradhya Mr Surya Narayan's favorite girl Draupadi. So he instantly left Duryodhan & returned to Malini. Initially, he asked parents Adiratha 007 & Radha whether they'd like to come, but Adiratha refused. Karna then turned to Vrushali, but she refused to talk to him for insulting her wannabe mistress Panchali. So Karna left alone and went to Malini. Not the Draupadi-Malini, but Jarasandha's gift Malini.

There, Karna was busy trying to compensate by doing extra daan to everybody in his kingdom. One day, Vyasa came to see him.

V: What you did was very wicked.

K: I know, Rishi-var, I know. How can I be redeemed?

V: You can't. I'm writing this story, and your role in it will stay.

K: If you are writing this story, can you at least cover my life as well? The insults that I suffered from the Pandavas? My marriages? My kids?

V: No, I won't do any of that.

K: Just for that one event? How about when she insulted me @ the swayamvara?

V: I don't think it was an insult.

K: Easy for you to say.

V: She described you as a suta putra. She'd have been just as accurate had she described you as illegitimate.

K: Rishivar, I heard that the same is true about you? Why didn't your lecherous father marry your mother?

V: No point hypothizing about that.

V: KARNA!!! For this, even after death, the rishis will tell your mourners about your misdeeds, like your friendship w/ Duryodhan

K: Okay, rishivar. You've had your fun. Now, as a daan, I'll give you a curse. Here is my curse to you. In the Kalyug, the story you write will be butchered several times. First, there will be several contradictions in your story alone, which will confound historians & other scholars alike. Then there will be the literary artists, and they will come up w/ creative additions to what you wrote, and be hailed for their literary genius. This will be followed by stage artists, who will distort your story even more. There will be hordes of people who'll be critical of your heros, while lionizing your villains. Then there will come a time when advances will allow people to witness the events exactly as they may well have happened. But when that happens, nobody will genuinely follow you. They'll happily distort whatever you write to suit their own agendas.

V: KARNA!!!

K: I'm not done. Finally, there will come a time when every Mahabharata will be so badly distorted that people just won't recognize your story anymore. The work you do will be so badly mangled that you yourself will not recognize it.

And the best part - there is nothing you'll be able to do about it!!!

Vyasa got frustrated & left Malini for Hastinapur, so that he could meet Dhritarashtra. Karna grinned from ear to ear and decided to send a messenger to Duryodhan to have his son sent to him.
