Karn & Karan is same but I would say that Karna is incorrect. In English, Karn will be Karn'a'. In other languages, Karna is wrong.

KARAN is the expandable form of KARN. So, KARAN is correct! Just because most of the Karans from television industry are Punjabis, that doesn't mean that Karan is a Punjabi name. Many Karans are Rajputs and South-Indians as well. 😊

And if people love to pronounce as KARAN, there is nothing harm in it. Its upto them..its their wish. They can pronounce him as Karan..I am comfortable with it.

ya,like Karan Singh Grover is not punjabi...😆😆
bt ill insist on taking MB's Karna with Karna n modern as Karan...😃😃

KARAN is Correct.

I searched for the meaning of KARAN. It has the same meaning. It says-

KARAN is a Greek word which means Companion or Helper. It was a Pandava name...a character of a mythology too..and it also means tyrant or pure.

The other meaning of KARAN says-
The meaning of KARAN is "Ear" and it is a name of Hindi origin. It is a name that is generally used when naming boys and is a variant of the name KARNA. The name is quite a popular first name of many women.

KARAN is 100% correct.

darling.

not " karan " but " karna " means ear. the word is of sanskrit origin and not hindi.

sanskrit is the mother language of most indian languages including hindi.

and mahabhart is a sanskrit epic and not greek. now did the author " maharshi vyas " consulted greek language for naming his characters ? well...

and yes. good point.

if " karan " is a greek name , then its totally different from karna which is a sanskrit word meaning " ear " isn't it ?

Yes his name is Karn or you can write Karna. Karan is not wrong pronounciation of karn but the both name are diffren and has diffrent meanings. Karna means ear and Karan is picked from naam-karan, suchi-karan etc. So Karan and Karn both are diffrent. Angraaj Karn called as Karn coz he had famous ear wid kundal (earings). In that time names were given for persons speciality.
