I have observed that ppl on this forum are calling / writing his name as KARAN.

it's not right folks ! it's just the punjabi pronunciation which is wrong.

the name is " KARN " ! so please write " KARN" or " KARNA " if u want but not karan.

this is a genuine request !

I never knew that Karan was a derivative of Karna until I came here.. 😆

Karn - Karna - Karan - Karnan are variations based on the word making grammar of the languages.. nothing wrong.. all are ok unless they give some other meaning or unless Karna confirms how he prefers to be called.. 😉

Personally am not liking that way.. Parasuram in this SPMB used that 😃

i think karn, karna, karan is same like
arjun, arjuna, arjunan...
in south india they called karnan-arjunan...😊
nd i also think here in notrh india it was famous as karan- arjun dont they...
nd there is a film also in same name karan- arjun...😆
so there is no diff in these name as my grandfather said...clear me if i was wrong...😊

Perhaps Karan is a deviation of Karna only.

I too have noticed people addressing him as Karan not just here but on FB, Twitter and even YouTube.

KARAN is the punjabi pronunciation of KARNA ! it's not the original sound.

the original name in mahabharat is " KARN " . or if u want to give emphasis on last syllable , it's " KARNA "

many names have been amended as per grammar of the native language of the speaker.. it is good to be enlightened but I don't find any point to insist correction of Karan with big font and bold letters which looks harsh on the readers..

Karn & Karan is same but I would say that Karna is incorrect. In English, Karn will be Karn'a'. In other languages, Karna is wrong.

KARAN is the expandable form of KARN. So, KARAN is correct! Just because most of the Karans from television industry are Punjabis, that doesn't mean that Karan is a Punjabi name. Many Karans are Rajputs and South-Indians as well. 😊

And if people love to pronounce as KARAN, there is nothing harm in it. Its upto them..its their wish. They can pronounce him as Karan..I am comfortable with it.
