It is BAK...WAAAS...

Kanyavaas literally means a women's chambers/ inner appartments where women lived. The more common name was antahapur.

As others have pointed out- women - especially royal princesses got all the requisite education within the palace itself. There was no way young nubile women - especially those belonging to the royal family would be sent to an outside place.

Draupadi herself remarks- during her humiliation- no men (other than immediate family members) had ever got to see her face except during her swayamvara. This shows that women of the royal family rarely left the palace confines except under strict protection

Dushala meeting Subhadra is the height of CVs imagination. And it is pretty juvinile imagination.

First of all the ages don't match. By the time Subhadra entered her teens, Dushala would have been married to Jayadrath and settled in Sindh- and probably given birth to Suratha.

Secondly- geographically there was no way both of them could have met. Subhadra spent her infancy in Mathura and grew up in Dwaraka till she eloped with Arjuna. If at all she would have met Dushala after her wedding with Arjuna- not before that.

This Kanyawaas thing is total rubbish

there was no such thing as kanyawaas in those days

males were sent to gurukul after thread ceremony after their eigth year and they remained there for 12 years

but females got all the training by private tutors at the palaces only

they learnt painting , mastering lanuages , horse riding , dance , warfare if they were interested in it there only

Madri , Kaikeyi etc showed keen interest in warfare

Gargi learnt the scriptures

what is Dushala telling i met Subhadra at kanyawaas

were girls even sent out to live in those days

stupid CVs

they r just making up words by putting old hindi words together

'kanyawaas' indeed

Precisely the point - even if Subhadra's & Dushala's ages were similar, which they weren't, Subhadra never came to Hastinapur until after the war, when the Kauravas were obliterated, and Duhsala never came to Indraprastha - she was probably married before even Draupadi was. As a result, there would never have been an occasion for the 2 of them to ever meet.

Dushala was much older than Subhadra

it is clearly mentioned that the Age difference between Subhadra and the brothers Balaram Krishna was quite a lot as she was born later .

That would make Dushala older than Krishna himself.
